I'm confused by some return options on 2 items. I usually use the UPS store by my house, no issues.
One item has BOTH options for UPS store and one that says just UPS. No problem, chose UPS store.
The other item only has UPS and has a link to locations in a link. This link goes to the UPS website and it lists UPS stores as drop off locations.
Is there any distinction? or does UPS encompass all UPS Stores as well?
EXAMPLE:
"UPS Dropoff — box and label needed - Please package and label your return and bring it to any UPS drop off location of your choice. UPS offers a variety of drop off locations. You can find them on the UPS website Print the return shipping label anytime from Your Orders or your email."
Prime member here. Most times my free Amazon returns have the options of both the UPS Store drop-off and my local locker (both free) but occasionally those options do not appear. 4 of the 5 items I am returning gave the option for UPS Store drop-off but the 5th did not. Options for the 5th item are Amazon Store (2 hours away round trip, not an option), UPS drop-off (a big mailbox in a parking lot, $5.99) or UPS pickup ($11.99). Could someone please explain why this occurs? Yes, the local locker might be full but I cannot think of a single reason why UPS store would not be an option.
I worked it out with a 10 minute callback from customer service who agreed to send me a prepaid label but this is the second or third time I had to spend time on the phone to make what should be a free return. Anyone know why this is occurring?
I've tried looking this up but I haven't gotten a straightforward or helpful answer.
It sounds like a UPS access point is just basically like a mailbox and I wouldn't be able to fully process my return to Amazin through one. Is this correct?
I live in Northern New Hampshire. To return some computer memory Amazon customer service is insisting I can drop off the item at a "nearby UPS store" but there are no UPS stores in Northern New Hampshire.
The item was shipped to me, I should be able to ship it back.
Their Customer support has been ridiculously bad both through the chat and calling - their support team seems to not be in the US (surprise) and unable to comprehend the situation and just repeats the same thing over and over: "You can drop off the item at a nearby UPS store" - They also insist they can not elevate my issue as they are the "highest elevation" - I replied "is your name Jeff Bezos?" sigh.
Edit: for clarification, they want me to take the item unpacked with a QR code specifically to a " The UPS Store" not a drop off location (which is what I normally do for Amazon returns but they won't give me this option.)
