Afternoon Y'all,
I made the Amazon return request this past Thursday(May the 12th), and the return confirmation stated that UPS would be by on the next business day to pickup the return(Friday the 13th in this case).
A driver never came by, though. I WFH and had even left a note on my door basically saying that the item was boxed up and ready to go and to please knock. Nada(I'm getting the vibe that no one came by period).
Is this normal? I.E, Amazon overpromises next business day pickup? Or did I fall through the crack somewhere?
Believe me, I'd much rather just take this return to the store. I'm fully capable of doing so, but Amazon isn't giving me that return option. I either wait for a driver, or pay to ship it back on my own out of pocket.

If the driver stopped by they would have left the Call Tag (label). In my experience, Amazon does always say next day but it can take up to 3 days.

When customers call us on the UPS hotline regarding this Amazon return what usually happens is that you would make a request for Amazon to have a ups driver come pick this up but Amazon is sometimes slow in contacting us or even creating the label for the rerun and also once the label is created then the ups driver will come the next business day. What I suggest is to get the UPS tracking number from Amazon and check it with the UPS hotline to see if the driver is supposed to come today or the next day and what kind of return is it because there is two types, 1 is the driver will come and leave the label if no one is there and the other one the driver will try to come pick up the package 3 times if on the 3rd time there is no one to hand over the package then the label gets destroyed and you will need to create another label/return with Amazon

Trying to return a small appliance to Amazon but the only return option provided was "UPS pick-up"; Amazon also specifically noted that "An adult must be present". However as I work full time I will not be able to stay home and wait for the UPS driver during the day.
My question is, If I accept the "UPS pick up" option but instead drop the item off at a UPS store, will that work? Will a UPS store accept an Amazon return that's scheduled for UPS pick up?
Or, can I actually leave the package on my porch for the UPS driver to pick up? I live in a very safe community so I don't worry about theft at all; I can even leave a note on package saying this is the return package please pick it up; just don't know if it would be against UPS/Amazon policy for pick up, considering Amazon specifically says "An adult must be present".

You can definitely leave the package out with a note for the driver to pick up! That is the ideal situation for us. As others said, the driver brings the label to put on the package, which is why it has to be picked up by the driver and not taken to UPS store. It needs to be boxed up already and make sure you leave it in a spot easy for the driver to see and a big note that says "UPS Amazon pickup" or something like that. An adult doesn't have to be present if the box is already waiting out for us :)
