I don’t know the time frame of when to leave the package out for UPS to pick up and do I have to be there or I can just leave it outside ? Thanks ahead!
Edit: Thank you all for the helps! The UPS driver just picked it up. Nice guy, he explained to me about the receipt and the tracking number. Offered him a cold bottle of water, he accepted it and seem very appreciative.
I searched but the newest answer was from 2 yrs ago so I wanted to ask again....
I have a return through Amazon and the UPS driver was supposed to pickup yesterday from my home - I waited all day and no UPS driver - checked the tracking and they said they delivered the label at 530pm when I was sitting, waiting for the driver to show up.
Stuff happens....fine
If I create another pickup request and just leave the package outside with a note, will most drivers actually pick up the package? I have RING so I can see if the driver comes or not and communicate with them if needed
The site specifically says an adult must be present however I'm not sure how much that's enforced...
Appreciate any replies
I hope I'm not being rude to UPS drivers, I've left my UPS package for pickup and usually just leave it outside my door for the driver to pick up.
Yet I've noticed from my camera that one of them knocked on my door and seemed upset that I didn't answer it. So he left those customer receipts near my door and took my package. Yet I'm sorta confused, am I suppose to answer the door to get the receipt? Every other driver just leaves it near my doorstep plus I'm cautious because of COVID-19, it's still high in my state.
The package is pre-labelled and I already paid all fees related to pick up beforehand.
Will the driver take it?
Afternoon Y'all,
I made the Amazon return request this past Thursday(May the 12th), and the return confirmation stated that UPS would be by on the next business day to pickup the return(Friday the 13th in this case).
A driver never came by, though. I WFH and had even left a note on my door basically saying that the item was boxed up and ready to go and to please knock. Nada(I'm getting the vibe that no one came by period).
Is this normal? I.E, Amazon overpromises next business day pickup? Or did I fall through the crack somewhere?
Believe me, I'd much rather just take this return to the store. I'm fully capable of doing so, but Amazon isn't giving me that return option. I either wait for a driver, or pay to ship it back on my own out of pocket.
This was asked 5 years ago so I want to know if it is still accepted. Can I leave the package outside with a note and probably my tracking id?
So I ordered a bed frame from Amazon that I ended up not needing but was unable to cancel in time to keep it from shipping. It's currently sitting on the large porch of the house I rent an apartment in and unfortunately it's too long to fit into my car so I need to have it picked up to return it.
My question is, the UPS pickup option from Amazon states an adult must be present. I have no issue being around for the pickup as I can work remotely from my apartment, but I live on the third floor, have no view of the front of the house and there's no buzzer for my apartment. How do I deal with an issue like this? Is it possible to notify the driver to call me to let me know it's here. Can I just print out a label, put it on the box and leave it on the front porch with a note? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think you have to be present. As long as the box is taped properly my UPS driver will take it.
well yeah leave a note. maybe put your phone number on it. however, if the package is in a condition that indicates you just don't give a shit, i'd just sheet it as not ready run away and pretend i didn't see the note.
returns are often sent back by people who obviously don't care at all. the other day i went to pick up at one of my drop boxes, one that happens to be outside exposed to the elements. the package was left outside the dropbox against the instructions written on the dropbox Do Not Leave Packages Outside of Drop Box. it rained that day, the package was a return to verizon, a satelite tv reciever. it was soaked by the time i got there, almost certainly the device was broken. don't be that guy.
sometimes people get a mattress shipped to them, it comes in a box all compressed and when you open it it basically explodes open and it takes either multiple people or lots of rope and time to repack it. i showed up one day and this woman expected me to take a kingsize foam mattress that weighs like 100 pounds back in my truck with no protection or that i'd have tools and 45min to spare, and that i'd just do it out in her front yard or driveway getting it all messy to put it back in the now destroyed box.
i have a large item i need to return to Amazon with UPS pickup, it says they will bring a label and i need to be home, but i work alot and most likely won't be here to meet the driver.
Can i just leave the package outside my home with a note saying its for UPS? I live in a pretty rural area, so i'm not afraid of it getting stolen.
