My boss paid to have UPS pick up an Amazon return and they still haven't picked it up. They haven't left the shipping label with us like they were supposed to either, so I can't bring it to a UPS store to ship it. I tried going into a shipping store yesterday and they said they couldn't do anything because it was in the system as a pickup, and to call a UPS store. Same thing, they said they can't help me and I'd have to call UPS. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a guy that said he initiated the process of canceling the pickup for the return on their end, and that someone should call me within the hour to go on with the next step. That never happened.
What do we do from here? It says it needs to be returned by July 2nd and nobody's really helping get this done.
Hi everyone,
Early last week Amazon initiated a free return for me where UPS would come pickup my bed frame. In the Amazon app, it says the carrier will schedule a time to pickup my return within 2 business days and they have my contact info.
However, it’s been more than 2 business days and no one has contacted me to schedule pickup and no one from UPS has come to pick it up.
Has anyone had this happen before? How do I get someone to come pick it up? Thanks!
I ordered something on Amazon and wanted to return it. Amazon told me the only option is UPS pickup and said UPS people would show up next business day. But it's been a week and nobody showed up. I called countless times and Amazon gave me a UPS tracking number yesterday. Today I was hoping somebody would come and pick up but still no luck. I called UPS just now and UPS told me that Amazon cancelled the UPS pickup order. Is there any way to escalate this? I feel like I get the same answer every time I call them and Amazon is just trying to not let me return the product.
I bought a item off Amazon which was already in the same city as me, and i needed it returned back so i used the ups pickup feature off amazon which they say
Before UPS comes, securely pack your return. UPS will bring a prepaid label for your package. UPS will pick up your return package on the next business day. An adult must be present. If the first attempt fails, UPS will try again 2 more times on the next 2 business days.
However when ups came they never gave me no type of label or nothing they just came and too it, it has been 4 days now with no updates or tracking number the package was already in the same city as me when it was delivered to me so it should take 4 days for them to return it back. WHAT DO I DO?? Do i continue to wait and they will eventually give me a tracking number or do i start searching in public.
Hello
I have a question for the ups peeps here. Today ups driver picked up my return package, but he didn’t give me a receipt or any kind but just simply ask me to take a picture of his ups phone showing the tracking number of the package. Is this normal? I just check tracking number on the ups phone and it still how scheduled for pick up.
Thank you
I’ve a return pickup of one of my Amazon ($350 valued) package. After couple of attempts (UPS never showed up but update that they came and package wasn’t ready) a lady from UPS picked up my parcel which has no label on it as UPS has to bring the label. I’ve asked her where is the label, just put it on but she said she will put on once she get back to truck as label is kept in her truck. I said ok and she left. Although, she announces my name before pickup so she have the details with her for that package.
After couple of days, I’ve checked that there is no tracking update on the UPS website for the tracking number (I’ve arranged tracking number from Amazon during failed attempts). Moving forward, I have called UPS and they said they never received the parcel you need to contact Amazon for the claim because it might get stolen or lost because drivers haven’t scanned it.
I’ve contacted Amazon (many times now) and they keep on asking for the receipt saying that pickup was successful and you handed over the parcel OR I should contact carrier to update the tracking if they made pickup of your parcel but upon checking with UPS they have no details about it and if they look to do anything they need a investigation/claim request from Amazon, not me because Amazon has contact with UPS. I’ve initiated the claim but they rejected because it’s a Amazon return and Amazon has to raise the request.
Now, my $350 in dig. Its been 20 days since the parcel was pickup. Amazon need a receipt that pickup was made and UPS need investigation request from Amazon to track it. I don’t have the receipt and UPS neither UPS is listening nor Amazon.
Should I file a police complaint or is there anyway to get the justices and refund?
This is the second round of starting Amazon return with UPS home pickup being the only option. The first time three business days went by without UPS knocking on the door. This is the second return attempt and the end of the second business day. Nothing happened. I work from home and no UPS driver knocked. Don't want to leave the package outside and get stolen. Does Amazon make returning more expensive items difficult on purpose? Called UPS through Amazon multiple times without any useful information. Long time Amazonian really frustrated. The posts didn't seem to have anything new to say. Returning through whole foods has been smooth and reliable without issue. Why is UPS home pickup only? Guess I haven't returned many things over the years to understand.
i'm returning a desk from Amazon, and it's too heavy for me to carry to UPS. I scheduled a pick up person from UPS to come today, but they never came. Any advice on who to speak to to resolve this
Hi all, I had an amazon return that UPS was suppose to pick up on Monday, but they never did and I waited till Tuesday and Wednesday and they never came. So I went to go reschedule the pickup on Amazon but then I see it says it was picked up on Monday at 11pm which was impossible because I still very much have the package. So I don't know what to do because I can't cancel the return since UPS technically has it on their system.
I do not want to leave my item outside my door for UPS pickup. Has anyone had any luck going straight to UPS and having them print out a return label and take the return?
Afternoon Y'all,
I made the Amazon return request this past Thursday(May the 12th), and the return confirmation stated that UPS would be by on the next business day to pickup the return(Friday the 13th in this case).
A driver never came by, though. I WFH and had even left a note on my door basically saying that the item was boxed up and ready to go and to please knock. Nada(I'm getting the vibe that no one came by period).
Is this normal? I.E, Amazon overpromises next business day pickup? Or did I fall through the crack somewhere?
Believe me, I'd much rather just take this return to the store. I'm fully capable of doing so, but Amazon isn't giving me that return option. I either wait for a driver, or pay to ship it back on my own out of pocket.
I left the box out all day for UPS. I kept checking. I had my window blinds open. Until 6:00 pm the box was still there. Then a few minutes later I saw the UPS truck. They normally leave a receipt under my front door mat. So I went out to get the receipt---> no receipt was left. Then I went to the UPS site to see the updates--->no updates/scan...until this moment . I'm very upset as I have been buying from Amazon for 12 years, I buy 99% of my needs from them...I receive orders 2 to 3 times a week. So I have returned purchases thru UPS pickup (maybe more than 50 times..it used to be free pick up). Every single time the UPS driver left a receipt except this time. I called Amazon to let them know. He didn't scan it either! What I'm worried about is if the driver didn't attach the shipping label to the box...then they wouldn't know what to do with the box! It could get lost...unless there is a way to trace it!
BTW, the UPS site still says---> "Scheduled for pick up 2/19/24" and we are already 2/20!
Update: Amazon called me and told me that their chat agents were wrong and UPS was supposed to pick it up, but UPS put the wrong label on my item. They closed the case and gave me my refund. Thank you all for the support!
I returned a $200 item to Amazon from my front porch because it was heavy. I have the return slip with tracking number showing they picked it up and it was returned with UPS. Amazon says they have no proof it was picked up. I sent in the picture of the pick up slip and they said that UPS was never scheduled to pick up my item and that an Amazon van was supposed to. The guy that came to my door told me he was there to pick up my Amazon return. I didn’t have any other Amazon return. So now they’re saying that I’ll have to pay the $200 again because I allowed “the wrong company” to pick it up.
How the hell did they have my information if they weren’t supposed to pick it up? I’ve tried speaking to three people now. The last one was extremely rude and told me I’d just need to pay again. The other two were just unhelpful. Do I just chargeback on my card when they charge me again? What do I even do? I have proof that UPS picked up my item with a tracking number that shows proof it was sent to an Amazon return facility.
I read through a couple reddit posts regarding this question, but i have so much anxiety and want to make sure I do this correctly lol. So since I selected free UPS pickup for my 1 return, I’m supposed to:
-
Use a box with no type of shipping label attached to the outside. Just a plain sturdy box.
-
Have the return item taped up in the box, with the QR code/return authorization page I printed INSIDE of the box, not affixed to the outside.
-
Leave it on my porch and include a note or something that says “UPS Pickup” so the driver knows its the correct box to take. (I plan to be home, but I’m scared I wont hear if they knock)
Is that it? The driver will leave a receipt for me (or hand it to me), and they will have the shipping label that they need to place on the box? I’m sure you guys get these stupid questions a lot, so I apologize in advance. I googled it but a lot of results are from several years ago and I wanted accurate info so I can do this right and make the drivers life as easy as possible! Thanks...I appreciate everything UPS drivers do to help us get our packages where they need to go.
What can i do. They said they have no option
This was asked 5 years ago so I want to know if it is still accepted. Can I leave the package outside with a note and probably my tracking id?
Recently, I've tried a return to Amazon and the only option available to me is for UPS to pick up from my house. The return instruction states that the UPS personnel will come with the prepaid label; however, when said person arrived to my door, they didn't have anything on them, no label to scan to show that someone from UPS had picked up my package, nor is there any other paper trail, and he was just going to take my package that's worth closed to $500 to walk away.
I was so surprised of how unprofessional it was, so I refused to give him the package as I won't have any proof that this person walked away with $500 worth of my items without any tracking. He said he will return the next day with a pre-printed label the NEXT day, and it has been 10 days from said claim. No UPS personnel ever came back.
Just called Amazon again to make a new return request, and unfortunately as the items are Apple Airpod Pros, the only option is to have UPS pick up. The CSR told me not to worry because they would have a pre-printed label and once scanned, they would know the items were picked up. The unfortunate part is... They did NOT come with any label and was just going to walk away with my package. It's only then that Amazon CSR advised me should the UPS personnel come again without any labels to scan or any paper trail (with this new return), call them immediately after the person pick the package up. I will do that, but I will also come out with my phone to record the exchange for proof that they did pick up the package.
Imagine this driver picking up 30 packages or more from various houses on their route, without any labels to track which is which, how would s/he remembers which packages belong to whom when s/he gets back to the center? Who's to say s/he doesn't have a designated drop off (at a house that's on their route and meet up with an accomplish) to hand off our unaccounted packages, then it will be a he says she says, their words against ours as to where the items may be? On their route during the day, it would still look like they were just driving along their route and didn't make any deviation, but ofc someone else can also happen to park across the street of a house where s/he is stopping to get those packages :) Not to claim that it is happening, but always a possibility.
There was a return I made to Kohls last November and Amazon claimed that I had only returned 1 of the 2 items when I was certain I had dropped off both. Make sure you take pictures of items you bring anywhere to return at the drop off location & the scanned label. IN between the transit from the drop off to the warehouse to be process, someone had "inadvertently" got items lost so much more frequently now. Be sure to protect your own assets. Not to be negative, but do take all precautions to protect yourself even if a seemingly saint had made promises. Lately, there has been so many lost items and amazon customer service/return has been shoddy at best.
It's been a total nightmare dealing with Amazon's CS, so hoping folks can help on here. Amazon only gave me a UPS pickup as my return option, and I live in an apartment when a pickup isn't possible. Few questions:
-Do I need to call UPS to set up a pickup? How do I let them know about the Amazon return label if Amazon doesn't give you a tracking number?
-If I don't leave the package but schedule the pickup, will the driver leave a return label?
