With Google raising their prices for Google workspace in March, I was thinking of perhaps letting WorkMail a go but before I do I would like to get some input from anyone who's encountered it?
Haven't heard anything about it all.
And what would/should be the option for Google drive in the aws sphere?

workmail is simple. i don't work in a corporate environment, so i have no clue what requirements there are, but it was my impression that "feature rich" is kind of what it is not. boss uses the web interface, and liked it much more than outlook, for its clarity. it is also surprisingly expensive. shared file support would be workdocs, which is just plain crap. online editing and collab is provided via some 3rd party software that looks straight from the 2000's. otherwise, there are tools that downloads files and reuploads them after local editing. wow. avoid.

I use WorkMail for a couple of addresses. I hook Outlook to it and it is fine. Does mail and calendar. I don't use the web interface though, so I don't know much about that.
