Hey, I’m 14 and I’m wondering about how the work experience is, the pay, and how many hours I can work. really all of the basics, what will they let me do as a 14 year old there?
Thanks.
I’ve turned 15 today and I was wondering to work there cause I’ve always loved movies and helping me people
What is an AMC Hiring Age 14 job?
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Amc Hiring Age 14 position, and why are they important?
What kinds of tasks can I expect to perform as a 14-year-old working at AMC Theatres?
I’m looking for a job at 15, when I saw amc hires at 14, I thought that was great, but I’ve heard it’s difficult to get an interview, any tips? (No suggesting other theaters, the next closest theater is a 20 min drive.)
Hello I can me know here to ask if any 14 year olds would want to share the experience of working there at such a young age. And yes in some states amc hires 14 year olds. Texas is one of them
Not a 14 year old, but a person in management. I can tell you there are lots and lots of restrictions. Even the basic federal guidelines are very strict with how long you can work, when you can work, and so on. During the summer it is less restrictive, but I wouldn't expect a ton of work during the school year. You'll also have a lot of equipment you simply aren't allowed to touch.
I started at Amc when I was 15 and worked there for about 2 years. What u/cinemaMania said is what Ill say too. As far as work ethic, Demands and such, its not too bad. if your a non physical person coming with work experience, it can be a little demanding at first, but depending on what your doing that day, It will be easier overtime. The other thing is restrictions. At my amc, we served alcohol, so of course i could not have anything to do with that, or even step foot in the bar, not really a problem. Other thing was the trash compactor, I could not go and throw trash bags in there or operate it, not a huge deal but you will have to remind your team members or even supervisors sometimes about that because they WILL forget that you legally cant operate it. The last thing is work hours, depending on your age and state you can only work so much and you’ll need a workers permit. As far as scheduling, my amc was pretty good. they gave me good hours, didn’t work me too hard, and kept track of my work limits, but these vaires from amc to amc and how good the management is. Other than that, I think amc would be a great first job, I started when I was 15 because that was my states limit, and continued working untill I was almost 18. I also got an opportunity to move up and became a “Crew Leader,” kinda like a supervisor. Overall would recommend as a good teen starter job.
My brother said you're all high school students. Isn't that impossible though? Could be wrong.
Thinking about working there and would I be out of place as a thirty something?
