WE have no idea when the 8000s are coming out. I would expect the first ones around 2-3 months after the first 50-series cards, so probably early Q2 2025. The GRE will probably drop once they are out. But its already the best price to performance card this generation at its 550 price point More on reddit.com

February 8, 2024Should I use 7800X3D or wait for its Ryzen 8000 series?
I built my last rig in 2014. I had a similar decision, to wait for ddr4 and the new processor generation or to build with what was currently available. I'm still using that rig with a sole upgrade of a 4080 last fall. Prior to that I was still able to play any game quite well on my Titan Black Hydro copper. I'm pretty certain that had I built with ddr3 and 4th generation intel instead of ddr4 and my 5960x I would have needed to upgrade years ago. While I admit this isn't a perfect parallel if you're building from scratch and waiting for the new processors you should also buy the new gpu generation. I would expect those combined would net you a significant benefit over our current components. More on reddit.com
