I'm thinking about jumping ship to Linux and I've got a few questions about using AMD Adrenaline or any alternatives over there. I'm a bit of a gamer, so this stuff is pretty important to me. Here's what I'm wondering:

AMD doesn't have Adrenaline for Linux. You need to figure out other ways to control what you need. That ranges from various variables for Mesa to kernel variables that control power and such. There are a few tools that make managing the latter easier such corectrl and radeon-profile.

No you can not use Adrenaline, use LACT Yes to FSR, FMF, and I'm pretty sure chill, never used it That the thing, you don't need to, amd/Intel use mesa as their GPU drivers, which come with any distrio Fedora is a good choice, as they update the Linux kernel and mesa drivers pretty offten, which is good for gaming, I would Go with their Fedora KDE Plasma for good Async support. If you just mainly game, go with Bazzite , it's Fedora but settings changed to be optimised for gaming, adds programes tgat help.with gaming in linux, as well made to mimic the SteamDeck, so set it and forget it.

Hardware support is built into the Linux Kernel, plug and play. ( The newer release your hardware is the newer Kernel version you will need. AMD and Intel cards use "The MESA graphics stack", MESA is automatically included in pretty much all versions of Linux and is automatically updated with normal system updates. This means as an AMD user you don't have to do anything, install your system, update it and you're ready to go. "Adrenalin" isn't used at all on Linux as it's not required but you may wish to 'play' with your GPU settings and the two tools I would point you towards are "Core control" and "LACT". Steam OS and I believe bazzite also has a collection of tweak tools built into gamer mode for TDP and frame rate settings etc. Support for cards and APU's is "spotty" so not all will be supported but I believe its getting better.

I see all the responses about Core control and LACT, but Adrenaline is so much more than that. There's per game and default graphics settings like Anisotropic filtering and AA, that some (older) games don't have options for. Honestly this seems to be AMD's fault for not having a linux application for their hardware.

I went full team red last year during the X-mas season. I have a Ryzen 7 5800x and a RX 6800 XT GPU. However, I prefer to use Linux. I use Win 10 for a narrow set of activities and it will become more narrow with time. I have no plans to move to Windows 11. The AMD drivers are built into the Kernel for Linux, you don't need the software, if you want to manage stuff like fan speeds or voltage there's programs like corectrl that allow you access to that, and installing it is different depending on the Distro.

Since win11 is just getting worse by removing things we love I changed to Linux, but I couldn't find an AMD Adrenaline Debian install so I want to ask u guys if there is a way to get it or any alternative app.

So my win install broke again, as it does on a semi-yeaely basis, and I want to switch to linux this time. I've heard that linux has good amd drivers but no Adrenalin support, which is essential for me for FSR4. Are there any convenient alternatives to it?

You use launch commands to force FSR4 in games that support it through compatible Proton versions in Linux. There is currently no anti-lag or radeon chill on Linux, but you’ll mostly be able to use a launch command for FSR4. Overclock, undervolt etc you can do through LACT. There really isn’t a need for that buggy piece of software on Linux. If you need FSR4 in non supported games all you need to do is install Goverlay and set up Optiscaler through there, and just use a launch command to inject it into games. No need to swap out DLLs or anything. The software does everything for you. Adrenalin is essential for nothing. AMD drivers has largely been better on Linux for the last couple months, but usually I would say they’re about equal. For Linux specifically, and gaming, an RX9060XT or one of the 9070 versions is some of the top cards to get out of all cards.

I believe you can use OpenRGB to change the LED colours on AMD GPUs. Use this at your own risk as it relies on reverse engineering to make it work. The safer option would be to change it in Windows and then switch back to Linux after making those changes.
