EDIT: I fixed it by following this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlArjfV-fEM even if I already did DDU my driver but maybe a step of this guide was necesarry to fix the problem. Now the overlay and replay is working as intended.
I've got a weird problem.
If I try to open the Radeon Software In-Game Overlay via ALT+R or ALT+Z it won't show up.
But when I click ALT+R I am not able to do inputs in the game anymore. It's like it is open but I can't see it. This happend right after I activated SAM on my R5 3600 + RX 6600XT a few days ago.
I tried re-installing the drivers after I activated SAM. I don't know seems a bit weird.
Also instant replay isn't working anymore I get green screens on videos and black screen on screenshots... Before I activated SAM I had no problems at all. But I don't want to miss out on the performance boost which is quite noticeable for me.
Can someone help me? :)
Edit: It is working on desktop.

So this had been driving me crazy when I was trying to learn how to enable RIS and RSR to work. I was about to factory reset the whole device because the overlay was important to see whether RIS and RSR even worked at all. I finally fixed it by going to 'Add or Remove Programs' via the start menu, find AMD Software, click the three dots and go to 'Advanced options', then click 'repair' and 'reset'. There you go.

Description of Original Problem: I intetionally use a flipped monitor to hide more cables and stuff, and so far its working great. However i noticed that when I open a game the AMD Overlay still thinks the monitor is on its default position, is there any workaround that can fix this?
Troubleshooting: I've tried enabling GPU Scaling as chatGPT said but it didn't work
Has anyone run into an issue where the AMD overlay hotkeys/shortcut don't seem to work with games launched from Steam? Or am it's my luck just that bad?
It's happening with single player games run in full screen.
For the last 2 day, strangely my amd overlay did not show up inside my game. But it was show up just after i launch the game as usual, it detect game. Any idea how to fix it maybe? It nice to have it back. i'm on 24.7.1 version, G15 AMD Advantage Edition
by deleting apple music app i just recently installed, it got back to normal😂
I would really like to have it work for every game.
I’ve seen a lot of people asking why the Adrenalin overlay doesn’t show up in games, so here’s a quick compilation of the most common causes and fixes I´ve been able to experience and confirm they work;
-
RGB/Peripheral Software Conflicts
-
Corsair iCue: Linking certain games to RGB profiles can block the overlay.
-
Razer Synapse: Even when closed, its background services may interfere since it detects running games for per-game lighting profiles.
-
-
Windows Settings
-
Enabling Disable Fullscreen Optimizations on a game’s .exe can sometimes fix overlay issues.
-
-
Other Apps with DRM/Overlays
-
Music apps like Apple Music (and sometimes Spotify) may conflict, especially if running in the background.
-
Other overlays (Discord, Steam, Xbox Game Bar, MSI Afterburner, etc.) can also cause problems if stacked.
-
-
Adrenalin Services
-
If it’s bugged, restarting AMD External Services often brings the overlay back without needing a full reboot.
-
TL;DR: Most of the time it’s either software (RGB apps, music apps, other overlays) or Windows settings messing with Adrenalin. If all else fails, restart AMD External Services and you’re good.
For RGB Software Conflicts most of the times you only have to disable game related services in Task Manager.
Last minute update because I forgot; Another thing that really helps is using DisplayPort and disabling HDCP in Adrenalin settings.
