After researching for way too long, I finally ordered the percale sheet set from American Blossom and just received it today. I’m already regretting buying these $300+ sheets. I loved buying American made, and tons of reviews (several on here) said they were amazing. But they are SO scratchy feeling, like paper. I’ve had percale sheets before, so I know they are more “crisp”, but this is extreme. I already washed them with vinegar, and they still feel the same. Please tell me they get better?? They have a generous return policy, but I’m not if I should give them more washes to soften up?
Best bedsheets blends and material
Great bedding brands that don’t pay a ton for marketing?
It would be helpful to know what pricerange you're looking in as well as what type of fabric you want. I do mix-and-match in the sense that my duvet cover is linen canvas, my sheets are Egyptian Cotton sateen and my duvet insert is silk.
Depending on what you want or what you want your bedding to do for you it depends. There's really no such thing as bedding that will have all three factors most look for: longevity, softness and breathability unless you're willing to pay an arm and a leg for it, usually. Most realistic options will have (at most) two of those three, but you have to end up sacrificing one factor in the end.
This is why quality bedding is hard to find and is more often times than not really expensive to own. Even buying from overseas markets is not as cheap as you would expect for really nice quality stuff. A good example is an etsy seller from Lithuania that does really high gsm linen bedding (which is rare to find at such a high gsm) for around $400+ to start with for a Queen size duvet cover.
Let me know your ultimate pricerange and what type of bedding you're looking for (as well as what you want most from it in terms of the three factors I mentioned previously) and I'll see what I can do for you :)
