Does American Express have a checking bonus or savings bonus?
American Express often runs promotions on its personal checking and savings accounts, but it currently is only offering a bonus for its Business Checking account. However, if you receive mail or an email from American Express with a targeted offer, you can take advantage of it once you meet the requirements.
How much are American Express Membership Rewards points worth?
The value of Amex Membership Rewards points depends on how you redeem them. For example, 30,000 points are worth $180 if you redeem them as a statement credit. However, you can get a higher value when you use other redemption methods. See this guide to Amex Membership Rewards points to learn more.
What is a High Yield Savings Account (HYSA)?
I recieved an email about this offer but when I go to the American Express website and click open new HYSA acct, it does not mention anything about a $350 bonus. The email says the offer is only available thru email link. Im kinda hesitant in clicking the link and depositing $25K for it to be a scam and lose it all. If this is legit, why doesnt AMEX offer it on the official website?
Has anyone taken advantage of this offer? Did you remove the 25K back to original account and got to receive the $350 statement credit also? I want to take advantage of this promo but not sure if worth it
Promo: “Earn a $350 Cash Bonus when you deposit $25,000 or more into a new American Express® High Yield Savings Account.† Offer available to email recipients who don’t have an existing American Express Savings account. Funds must be deposited by March 3, 2023 and held through May 2, 2023. See below for complete offer terms and conditions.”
Got an email from Amex with a $350 bonus offer if I deposit at least $25k into their high yield savings account and keep it there for a couple months. On paper, it sounds like easy money, but I’m wondering if the account itself is actually smooth to use or if it ends up being more hassle than it’s worth.
The money’s just been sitting in my Ally account anyway, so moving it over for a short time doesn’t sound like a huge deal. Still, I don’t wanna end up stuck with clunky transfers, slow customer service, or restrictions that make the bonus harder to actually get.
Anyone here ever tried out the Amex HYSA? Curious if it’s a decent option just for snagging the bonus, or if the experience is frustrating enough that I’d regret making the switch even temporarily.
Reading the terms and such it seems like the account only has to be open 60 days to get the $500 bonus. Has anyone ever done this and closed the account after 60 days?
They do say: If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated the Deposit Account Agreement and Savings Schedule or have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with your account, we may determine that you are not eligible for the bonus. In such circumstance, we may rescind or decline to award you the bonus.
Does that mean if I close it 70 days later it'll be flagged as a violation?
I just got approved for my first AMEX card (Yayyyy) and Im thinking of opening a HYSA as well, what are everyone’s thoughts/experiences with their HYSA?
Thank you!
