Posting just in case other people are having issues and/or people who are thinking in opening an account.

I have been having issues adding the new AmEx checking account to some of my auto-pay bills, such as utility companies etc. I get a notice that the routing number is "invalid".

I talked to AmEx customer support and they said some merchants are slower than others to update their records, and that is why some merchants are marking the new checking routing number as "invalid". They said they are working to update merchants, but it is not clear as to how they would do that.

I have also had this issue when trying to connect this account with Coinbase/Gemini.
