Currently I am using DeGiro as online broker to purchase ETF's. Personally, I'd really like to invest in the S&P500 (too bad you can't purchase the Vanguard accumulating one as a European citizen).
DeGiro does have a core selection of ETF's where you do not have to pay any entry fees on your first purchase of each month.
Taking this into account, I have looked which ETF tracks the S&P500 within their core selection.
I found this one from Amundi (so no entry fees): http://www.morningstar.be/be/etf/snapshot/snapshot.aspx?id=0P0001CLZ9&lang=nl-BE
Whilst they do also offer one from iShares (with entry fees): http://www.morningstar.nl/nl/etf/snapshot/snapshot.aspx?id=0P00013VX5
(Both are Accumulating)
I was wondering what would be the best to invest in, as a smaller investor (I'm still a student and am able to invest about 100 euros each month).
I have looked for differences between both ETF's, but am yet deciding which is best. Hopefully someone can help me out here.
Amundi
TER: 0,15%
Managed by BNP Paribas Fortis
Market capitalisation of +- 4500 million
Only able to purchase the one listed in Euronext Paris
iShares
TER: 0,07%
Managed by Blackrock
Market cap. of +- 32000 million
Listed in Euronext Amsterdam
Extra costs: €2 per purchase + 0.038% (with a maximum of €30)
Personally (and it might seem like 'nitpicking'), I think the one from Amundi is the most favorable, since I am not purchasing for a big amount each time? The fixed cost of €2 will have a relatively big impact on the cost structure of iShares. Unless I start saving & buying once every year. Although I am more fond of iShares for some reason...
Hi, I’m 32 and I want to start investing in ETFs through a monthly savings plan (I'm just starting out and don’t have much liquidity to invest all at once). Among the various indices, I’ve chosen the MSCI World, but I’m undecided between two ETFs: Amundi MSCI World V UCITS ETF Acc (ISIN: LU1781541179) vs. iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF USD (Acc) (ISIN: IE00B4L5Y983).
Amundi offers a 0.12% TER + 0.04% annual transaction costs, while iShares has a 0.2% TER and no transaction costs.
At first glance, Amundi seems more convenient, although it’s a much smaller fund compared to iShares. However, I have another doubt. Considering that I’m a resident in Italy and don’t plan to take dividends, given the different domiciliation (Luxembourg for Amundi and Ireland for iShares), when I have to sell/rebalance, how will the different taxation affect me (if it’s actually different)?
Also do you have any recommendations on other world etf, maybe also FTSE even though I’m willing to add more emerging markets once I have bigger numbers invested.
Thank you all

Amundi MSCI World V UCITS ETF Acc
TER: 0.12%
Fondsgröße: EUR 4.5B
Replikation: Full
iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF Acc
Ter: 0.20%
Fondsgröße: EUR 66B
Replikation: Sampling
I wanted to create a regular buying plan for IE00B4L5Y983 (ISHARES CORE MSCI WORLD ETF), but the downside is my broker charges for every time it would buy automatically 1,5 €
For IE000BI8OT95 (AMUNDI MSCI WORLD ETF) he doesn't, also the Amundi has less ongoing costs (0,12 %).
Am I overlooking something? Would I do anyhting wrong investing in Amundi instead of Ishares?
Hello everyone,
I currently have a five-figure amount invested in the iShares MSCI World. Is it worthwhile switching to Amundi? That is, going from 0.20% annual costs to 0.12%.
Edit: A major disadvantage would be the 25% loss on the sale to switch. That doesn't really make it worthwhile anymore.
Hey everyone,
I want to invest in an ETF monthly and I'm wavering between
-
ISHARES CORE MSCI WORLD ETF (IE00B4L5Y983)
-
AMUNDI MSCI WORLD ETF (IE000BI8OT95)
I've done some research, and the difference doesn't seem that big. On paper, the Amundi should be better because it yields more, yet many still go for iShares.
Since I don't want to mess anything up, I'm asking the experts here again.
As far as I've found out, the AMUNDI MSCI WORLD ETF had a turbulent past and was previously based in Luxembourg, which wasn't ideal tax-wise due to the many US stocks. That should be fixed now, though. The Amundi has lower costs (0.12 vs 0.2). The Amundi is fully physically replicated, while iShares is sample physically replicated. iShares has significantly more capital, but Amundi is also among the largest MSCI World funds.
Generally, security is more important to me than a little extra return, but the Amundi seems safer and better? Or should I stick with the established iShares?
EDIT: Based on the comments, I'd switched to the iShares MSCI ACWI UCITS ETF USD (Acc) IE00B6R52259. But again, there's an attractive alternative with cheaper conditions, the IE00B44Z5B48 SPDR MSCI All Country World UCITS ETF (Acc). So, ultimately, the same question.
Looking to start a single fund portfolio on Endowus with cash (I already have VWRA on IBKR, just want to diversify). Is iShares Developed World Index Fund or Amundi Index MSCI World Fund better? It seems like iShares would be better with no front-loading fee?
iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF USD - IE00B4L5Y983 à 100€ l'unité
Lyxor Core STOXX Europe 600 (DR) - UCITS ETF Acc (LYP6), ÅOP 0,07%
We are currently paying about 0.2% yearly to vanguard or iShares when we invest in VWCE or IWDA. I know Amundi is a French competitor. Given the current context, I would prefer paying, even if a bit more expensive, a European company, but for a very similar or identical investment (all world investment)
So what are my alternatives to invest globally, via a European ETF provider, instead of an American ETF provider ?
Edit: Some comments seem to indicate some confusion. I am NOT talking about changing the underlying (world index fund), but rather the ISSUER of such an ETF. Currently most people would invest with Vangard's or BlackRock's ETF.
If I have the rephrase my post: Are there European issuer that provide interesting world index fund
Guten Tag,
Kurz: Totaler Schrott.
Ansonsten schau mal hier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weVAN2HxXjk
Im considering investing long term in the Amundi Prime All Country World UCITS ETF Acc (IE0003XJA0J9) because it has a low TER of 0.07% and includes both developed and emerging countries.
Or is it safer to go for something like eg. iShares MSCI ACWI UCITS ETF USD (Acc) (IE00B6R52259) 0.20% TER
Is this a good choice and does Amundi have a good reputation?
Is it safe to invest in an ETF that has been around for less than two years? I'm new to investing and would appreciate some guidance.
Which of these 3 portfolios is best for global exposure? And why?
..
Portfolio 1
- 100% SPDR MSCI ACWI IMI UCITS ETF?
Portfolio 2
- 100% iShares MSCI ACWI UCITS ETF USD (Acc)
Portfolio 3
- 79% iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF USD (Acc)
- 10% iShares MSCI World Small Cap UCITS ETF
- 11% iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets IMI UCITS ETF (Acc)
Hi all! Thought i might start a discussion about the perks of the three groups when considering investing in the S&P 500 or All world.
Additionally, if you have any investments in gold ETFs; would you chose L&G, Ishares, or something completely different?
Which do you have in your portfolio, and why?
