I'm sure someone has made one of these, but I can't recall ever seeing one if so, I'm sure none were ever used this way I needed to clean the inside of a formed beam but no grinder would fit except for little rt angle pneumatic die grinders but those things take forever to do much. So I made a 3inch long extension to fit the 5/8-11 thread on angle grinders out of a length of 1" round bar.

I use 3" bristle discs a lot. They are Roloc mount. It's easy to mount a Roloc shank in a die grinder. But what about an angle grinder? So I use an adapter that looks a lot like the OP to which is mounted a 3" Roloc backing plate. Now all good.

Hi all, been using my 4" bench grinder for some polishing on old motorcycle parts and it's working really well so far!
However, as I'm moving up to larger pieces, I need more movement around the wheel. Has anyone used something like this? Should I be too concerned about stress on bearings?
Or should I just go to harbor freight and pick up a $40 bench polisher that's build for this.

To offer an opposing opinion, I am 48 and my dad's grinder had one of these all my 48 year old life. The grinder still works as good as new and it is over 50 years old. For this reason when I got my own grinder 15 years ago, I added an extension on mine too. My two- wheel grinder has been running 3 wheels for 15 years and it will outlast my own life. I run 1 grinding wheel, a polisher, and on the extension sits a wife wheel.
