Is the Anker charging dock worth it?
No the Anker charging dock is not worth it.
It's over priced, if you use a power bank connected to the Quest 2 while playing games you'll need to remove the magnetic adapter from the headset every time, if you have grips on your controllers they'll need to be removed before charging every time, the rechargeable controller batteries lose charge quickly.
Just get a good set of rechargeable AA bateries and charger for the controllers, any decent Quest 2 stand and a set of magnetic USB cables to use with the wall charger and power bank if you use one.

The burning of charging ports is not widespread enough that you should worry about it and the charging dock won't protect you from it.
imo the charging dock is a waste of money, it offers very little added convenience, while preventing you from using controller grips/knuckle straps or having a power bank permanently plugged in (which includes the elite battery strap) and taking up more space, aside from that I would advise against leaving your devices charging, when they're full, which is exactly what the dock is doing. For the controllers you can just use any rechargeable AA batteries

controllers need a single AA battery which last for at least a month. No need to charge every day

constant charging wears down your headset battery. To avoid it, attach a cheap, small power bank. Please see my notes on this topic in my earlier comments.

that charging dock takes up a lot of space and you need desk or table space for it. This 3D-printed solution is much more practical (and uses about $1 worth of plastic and can be printed on the cheapest $200 printers)
Not much to add, but Anker if you're listening, would love to see a version of the charging dock that works with the Elite Strap with battery!
As far as I can see it is designed to charge via the headset directly, which makes sense but would love a version designed somehow to work with the battery strap. Minor technical challenge as the strap can be adjusted in length, but nothing some good engineers can sort out!

I've been waiting for the Anker Prime Wireless Charing station (3-in-1) to drop for a nice Qi2.2 solution. 25W wireless for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, some active cooling so it doesn't slow down right away. Great.
But $230! $184 with "coupon". I just can't! What makes this unit worth three times more than any other? I bought a membership to get this on launch day even.
$184 for the Prime 26k power bank, $72 for the wireless car charger seems about right. But this Qi2 stand, nope.
Anyone try one? Does the cooling really help, or is most of the degrading heat in the phone anyway where it can't reach it? It seems entirely pitched to iPhone 17 users, but I hope it's Pixel 10 Pro XL compatible for 25W.
