APC UPS Battery Backup - How to Calculate the power input in all my devices to choose the right Battery Backup?
How to calculate runtime on a UPS
Videos
Hello.
As stated in the title; I find it a bit hard to calculate the input power of my devices in order to choose the suitable Uninterruptible Power Supply for them.
Here is a list of my devices:
-
1- Laptop: 19.5V - 9.23A
-
2- Router: 9V - 600mA
-
3- Device 1: 12V - 2A - 24.0W
-
4- Screen 1: 14V - 2.14A
-
5- Screen 2: 14V - 2.14A
-
6- Keyboard: 5V - 1.5A
-
7- Logitech mouse: 5V - 500mA
-
8- HDD external: 9.3W
-
9- SSD external: 570mW
I hope I gathered the info right. The thing is that there is a daily electricity cut out for two hours at least where I live, so I need to buy a UPS to be able to work within those daily two hours.
Can anyone please assist me in this cause I am terrible at calculations and the even the APC shop dealer can't help me in this :-\
Thank you so much!
Hey,
We have an APC UPS and I'd like to get a better understanding on how runtime is calculated.
I don't know jack shit about electricity but have recently been trying to learn more about voltage/amps/watts/ WHR/kWH.
I have been looking at the different formulas for getting total watts/WHR and logged into one of our UPS out of curiosity.
Here is what I see on our unit now. The runtime is pretty low:

We need to buy another UPS for a smaller site and I am trying to figure out the formula APC uses(hopefully using he number here in the status page) to determine runtime. The UPS we are replacing has the same GUI. We'd like to get at least 30 mins runtime.
Thanks
