Don't look for a UPS that shuts down servers. Look for a UPS compatible with NUT. NUT talks to UPS, and shuts down server. UPS shouldn't talk to server. More on reddit.com

Hello, I’d like to implement UPS management software in my workplace. We have roughly 50 racked mounted APC Smart UPS’s with network ports on them.
The UPS’s aren’t powering any networked devices, thus I’m not wanting to use a USB/serial cable and need this to strictly be over the network.
We really only need to receive alerts when a UPS battery is bad or loses power. It doesn’t need to shut anything down or anything else. Very basic monitoring.
I’d like to find software that’s free and easy to setup/maintain.
Any suggestions?
