Hi everyone,
I just picked up the airpods from Best Buy and was told that I cannot return if the box is opened due to hygiene. Although I understand this, I was quite surprised because many ppl here have mentioned that you can return.
Wondering if anyone knows if this is the same for Costco. Maybe I should return and buy it at Costco instead?

Bought AirPods from Costco in May 2023 for my parents who live abroad. They worked fine for a few months, then developed static noise and now won’t pair at all. Couldn't get them repaired abroad -> Authorized repair centers were asking to take it back to the US to get it repaired.
I finally got them back to the US, Apple support in the US says it’s out of warranty (over a year).
I’m no longer a Costco member. I still have the receipt and all original items. Will Costco take them back? I’m not trying to abuse their policy; they’re barely used and defective.
If yes, what does the process look like, and how can I make it smoother ?

Electronics have a 90 day return policy. Apple has a one year warranty unless you bought AppleCare. Costco will most likely not take them back.

And at least now, not sure about back then, but I bought a couple of sets of AirPods Pros last fall and they included 2 years AppleCare
