Good day, USB-C community! I have been purchasing used Apple USB-C charging bricks under the notion that they are of a MUCH higher quality than typical third-party chargers (including folks like Anker and Aukey). I have two of the Apple 96w chargers and they seem to work just fine... and I picked them up for a song. I have a colleague that thinks that's the Apple chargers are nothing special and that I'd be much better off purchasing one of the higher-end Anker charging bricks that have multiple ports.
What say you, community?

I'd say nothing special but less of a worry of one burning your house down. That being said, I tend to go w/ Anker as they are smaller, reliable, and have more ports. I'm not an expert, this is just my experience.

So I love fast chargers because yknow… they’re fast. But in comparison to any of the regular usb chargers, the blocks just stop working after like 6 months to a year. I just had one stop working and had to order a new one. Lo and behold, after a week, it stopped working. Luckily I can get it replaced rather easily. But like a charger block only functioning for just a year is absolutely ridiculous. The chords always outlast the blocks by a considerable margin. It’s always the god damn block, and I am sick of shilling out $30 every year for a new block.
Apple products used to be so reliable and durable. They would last for years and years. You’re paying top dollar for the quality, and now the quality is shit. Seems like I should just be buying off brand at this point.
Is there maybe just better handling or something? Is there a solution to extend the life of the block or am I shit outta luck? Should I plug it into a wall instead of a power strip? Is there actually anyway to fix these god foresaken paper weights?
