I'm trying to follow the steps in the "Gain control of your Apple ID" part and I get to the "If you can't reset your Apple ID password or sign in" and try to sign in at the "appleid.apple.com", as advised there, but it requests an answer to the security questions, which are in Chinese (changed by the hacker).

Hi all, today I got an email notif saying my apple id password was changed. Luckily I was able to change it back immediately, but the security questions were changed as well. Is there any way to bypass these questions?

The fact that the security questions are now in Chinese means that your AppleID is compromised. Seen it before. You're using a security method (Secondary Authentication) that was discontinued 12 years ago. Not much you can do here and Apple can't help either.

Not upgrading your account security is a big fuckup on your part, anyway try the reset question link shown on the page.

Hello.
I recently got an email from Apple saying that some of my account details had changed, and that if it wasn’t me, I needed to change the information as soon as possible. By the time I tried to, my security questions had been changed into a language that I don’t understand, but appears to maybe be Mandarin.
I was, however, able to change my password, but I still cannot access my account with the security questions changed to whatever they currently are.
I tried calling Apple support and they told me that I can’t even delete my Apple ID and start over because Apple will prevent my email from ever being used again.
Is there any way to prove that I am the real owner of the account and change my security questions?

Do you use your Apple ID? I have had a lot of luck of being signing in to a device with their Apple ID and password, and it allows you to opt into two factor and skip the security questions.

You must already be logged in if you could change your password without answering your security questions. As suggested, you may be able to turn on two-factor authentication. I have an old Apple ID account I don't actually use anymore but it's tied to my name and old email so I don't want to just ignore it. I got a bunch of emails tonight that my password, security questions, etc were changed. I opened a private window and logged in and was able to change the password since I have access to the email, but I can't proceed further with the log in because of the security questions. I used the iforgot site but to change security questions I have to be able to answer one of the current questions which are now all in Chinese. I don't know what security setting I had on this as I haven't used this as an appleID in at least a decade.

Simple Secondary is the security type for accounts with security questions. If there is a verified Rescue Email on the account (that you have access to), you would be able to Reset Security Questions by receiving an email to the Rescue Email. -- https://support.apple.com/en-us/102349 Outside of that, the Apple ID is gone. They'll likely use it to redeem gift cards acquired from scams & the account will be permanently locked/disabled soon.

Simple solution if you own an apple device. Sign into imail and it'll prompt you to enable 2fa bypassing the security questions. If you don't own an apple device you can use an online emulator like appetize.io
