What is Reddit's honest opinion of Apple computers (Specifically the Macbook/Macbook pro)?
Do NOT Buy The M1 MacBook Pro. Here’s Why:
Here's why I'm officially quitting Apple Laptops.
He’s been quitting since 2016. Clickbait bastard. Nobody cares about this idiot.

I own a 2018 13' macbook pro, first apple PC I had.
Pros:
-
The screen and sound are really nice. I love to program in this PC instead of my main one, it feels nicer on the eyes
-
macOS is really nice. I had to adapt a bit but I really like it. In my honest opinion it's not more stable than Windows 10 like a lot of people like to claim, but it's fast, I almost never shut it down (I just close and open the lid, it works perfectly) and it's smooth.
-
It's light and thin (however, this has a huge disadvantage imo, more below), it's a pick up and go laptop, easy to bring anywhere
-
The build is really good and feels nice to touch.
-
The battery life is the best thing about this thing. It lasts a long time!
-
It supports dual boot with Windows. I prefer to use a virtual machine, but this is neat.
Depends on your preferences:
-
the keyboard, it's a either you love or hate it kind of thing. Personally I got used to it and it feels fast to type, the travel is minimal.
-
Touchbar. It's also like the keyboard, you'll love it or hate it. I got used to it and use it for things like to control the volume and light, and to refresh Chrome sometimes, but not really much else.
-
Apple Logo. It's a status laptop and some of your money goes to have that logo. Let's not beat around the bush. Some people like to have a mac because of the logo, I personally don't care for it. The only reason I got this laptop is because I needed a new laptop and a machine that supported macOS
Cons:
-
It's too thin for its own good. I feel that a Pro computer shouldn't care THAT much about aesthetics and silence. Macbooks Pros lately do not offer the same performance as a PC with similar specs, because Apple crammed everything so close and together. It heats up easily if you're not idling and it will throttle itself just as easily.
-
It's not cheap to fix these laptops if you need to repair them after the warranty, sometimes you can just get a macbook air or a macbook mini for the price of repairing your macbook pro
They are expensive laptops imo, but they're good. However, you can also get just as good PC's and perhaps cheaper. Idk your circumstances but if you're tight with money, you probably shouldn't get such an expensive laptop? Especially if you don't have a strong reason to and if your Surface still works.
