Add to that the driver and stability nightmare of running critical, often custom, PCIe hardware over a Thunderbolt bridge, and you have a support black hole that Apple wants no part of. You can then enter that serial number on the Check Coverage page to find your model. March 5, 2025 - I see no reason to believe why they would make an M5 or M6 ultra when they couldnt even be bothered to update the current lame duck M2ultra Mac Pro, which they oddly are still selling. Out, not with a bang, but with a withering whimper. Apple could not be more mismanaged, lazy, thoughtful, and unproductive, and the complete lack of statement towards Mac Pro users is more evidence of that assertion.

July 13, 2025 - And perhaps the most convincing argument: the Mac Pro is no longer required in order to get the best performance from a Mac, and the workflows themselves have become so resource-light that even a MacBook can edit multiple streams of 4K video and be used for coding - ideas that would have once been fantasy. If Apple is to keep the Mac Pro, then it needs to seriously think about two things.
