Is there a difference between student and… - Apple Community
Who is eligible for Apple Music's student subscription?
For US residents, you need to be a college or university student studying a bachelor degree, post-graduate degree, or equivalent higher education course. Canadian residents can qualify for the student subscription by being enrolled in post-secondary school. Apple Music listeners in Japan are also eligible for the discount when enrolled in junior, technical colleges, and special courses.
Can I keep using Apple Music's student subscription after graduating?
If you graduate in the middle of your Apple Music student subscription, you can keep it until your renewal date arrives. If you're unable to verify your enrollment status at that time due to graduation, you'll no longer be eligible for the discounted student rate with free Apple TV Plus.
Also note that users can only take advantage of the plan for four years maximum before being moved back to the normal individual Apple Music plan.
How does Apple verify student status?
Apple uses Unidays, a popular student enrollment verification site, to check your enrollment status. Unidays first asks for some personal information before letting you choose between using your school email address or school learning portal to verify your status. Here's the information it will ask for:
- First and last name
- School name
- Year of study
- Course length
