Since 2021 till now, I jump back and forth between both, and I finish up using Spotify at the end of the day.
But, I can hear and recognize the better Audio Quality and want to switch to Apple Music finally, but Spotify playback is way faster in my country in Europe and the play song time is 1-2 seconds slower than Spotify in my country at least.
I like Spotify Wrapped more than Apple Music Replay.

Which one should I choose? Thanks.
Edit - 13.12.23: I’ve just finished up switching from Spotify to Apple Music. So therefore, instead of using Spotify for both music and podcasts, now Im using Apple Music (AM) for music and music videos, and Overcast app for podcasts.

It’s 2023 and Apple Music and Spotify have changed a lot already this year. So I thought anyone that wants to switch over should know what the cons and pros of each one are.
Apple Music pros:
• Some say it has a cleaner ui whereas most people would say it’s more organized and aesthetically pleasing.
• You can put all your MP3 files in iCloud so you can access all your files without having to download them on each one of your devices.
• The integration with Apple products is amazing. You can search for a playlist by just typing in an iPhone/iPad search bar and finding your music and other songs for Apple Music. You can also use the Apple Shortcuts app to do fun things with Apple Music like a quiz or share specific things from Apple Music with friends.
• The audio quality could make an amazing experience for people that care for the best music listening possible, with Apple Music supporting ALAC (up to 24-bit/48 kHz) and (up to 24-bit/192 kHz) and spatial audio.
• Just music, no audiobooks or podcasts like Spotify has in their subscription.
• usually it’s cheaper, especially if you get it with an Apple One subscription.
cons of Apple Music:
• The UI is too simple for most people. It's harder to get to things like the repeat button and an artist's discography.
• It's still not on a lot of devices. It's growing for future devices but the desktop app for example is still in beta and also still needs work. (Again it’s in beta)
• Airplay is only on Apple devices. So you can’t control your music from your gaming console or Windows desktop.
• the algorithm is horrible for certain genres and it can be harder to find certain artists. it’s also getting worked on, but right now the thing that Apple claims is, it’s all machine learning.
• Once you cancel your Apple Music subscription and you don’t use it for a while your whole library is gone.
• it’s not as social as Spotify. It does have a friend mix, but that’s the only social feature it has.
• the Queue system on Apple is horrible. They have a play next and play last feature. Play Later places the song underneath all the songs you haven't queued. So if you start a playlist and queue a song with Play Later, the song will fall under every other song you haven't queued yourself.
Pros of Spotify:
• The algorithm will know you easily based on your listening patterns, and how you use the app.
• It has more functionality to it. It has the repeat/shuffle button on the same screen, and you can easily share where Apple Music has it more where it’s all in a menu instead of just one place.
• The Queue system on Spotify is a lot better and won’t skip the song you placed before another song.
• There are more playlists based on your algorithm if you search up on Spotify “made for you” and a lot more because of many people on Spotify.
• There are a lot more underground and unpopular artists on Spotify that you won’t usually find on Apple Music.
• It has way more social features with things like blend playlists for your friends, you can make a playlist with as many friends as you want, and shows all the songs that you and they have listened to recently.
• It’s on so many devices. You could find Spotify on a smart fridge or treadmill from any public place lol.
• The user base on Spotify is a lot bigger so you could find more public playlists and it’s also most of the time easier to share playlists because most people use Spotify as well.
• Spotify Connect is a great future for people that want to control their music from wherever it’s playing to their phone so they can control it on any device.
• for a lot of people having podcasts and audiobooks might be a plus for how much they are paying because now you can have everything all in one app.
• They have a duo subscription that you can do with a friend or partner.
The cons of Spotify:
• The Apple integration is almost not there at all. Spotify does not support Airplay 2 or isn’t even available to use on the HomePod. With the Apple TV app version, it doesn’t even have lyrics.
• The ui can be very cluttered, and some think it is very ugly.
• Not having lossless and spatial audio can be a downer for a lot of people. Most people, however, cannot notice the difference between lossless and Spotify audio quality.
• There are too many things like podcasts and audiobooks that might annoy people that just want only music. Which also contributes to it making it more cluttered on its UI.
• You can’t put mp3 files in the cloud. Instead, you have to download it on each device or play it through Spotify Connect.
Most of these are preferences and you just need to figure out what is most comfortable for you to use. I hope I gave everything correctly and I did as best as I could :)
