So what pencil are you supposed to use with the iPad 11?

Do Apple Pencils work on an iPhone?
No. Apple Pencils don't work with the iPhone, not even as a simple stylus.
Is an Apple Pencil worth it?
iPad users who enjoy drawing or frequently take handwritten notes can certainly find value in the Apple Pencil, and it may be an essential tool for those who use any of the best iPads professionally for visually intensive tasks.
Even if you don't typically draw or take handwritten notes, the ease and effectiveness of the Apple Pencil could change that. You may also find it a convenient way to navigate apps or the tablet's interface.
Do Apple Pencils come with extra tips?
Only the Apple Pencil (1st generation) comes with an extra tip. The Apple Pencil (2nd generation), Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Apple Pencil Pro do not come with extra tips.
Additional tips, compatible with every Apple Pencil, can be bought separately from Apple and third-party retailers like Amazon.

Hi everyone!
I’ve got a question I couldn’t really answer just by watching reviews and reading specs, so I figured I’d ask people with real hands-on experience.
I have an iPad A16 2025 (the newer model that only supports the Apple Pencil USB-C, not the 2nd gen magnetic one), and I’m currently using the Apple Pencil USB-C.
My question is: Is there any significant real-world difference between the 2nd gen Apple Pencil and the USB-C version, especially in apps like GoodNotes (latency, precision, smoothness, pressure sensitivity, palm rejection, etc.)?
Or, in practice, for daily note-taking/studying, do they end up being pretty much equivalent?
Another thing I’m wondering: Since my iPad isn’t compatible with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil, is there any “universal” or third-party stylus (Logitech or other brands) that really behaves similarly to the Apple Pencil 2 in terms of advanced features, or is that mostly marketing and, in the end, what matters is just that it writes well without lag?
Thanks ! 🙏📚✏️
Just got my IPad 11, looks great. Now time to put it to its intended use by buying a pencil. Only thing is, is there one?
As far as I can tell, the Pencil Pro is incompatible with it but the USB-C seems to be missing a bunch of features. Now granted I’m not sure how important those features are but seems strange there isn’t an option to access them. The only other option is the 1st gen pencil which is a decade old, and a third party pencil.
Is it just me or does this seem… not very well thought out??
Hi, I have an iPad 7th generation, and I'm wondering if there's any way to connect the Apple Pencil (USB-C version) to it, or if it's just not compatible at all. I know the iPad 7th gen uses the 1st gen Apple Pencil, which requires a Lightning adapter, but I was hoping there might be a workaround for the USB-C Pencil. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!
Recently I ordered the newest iPad (normal iPad not pro or mini or etc.) I also purchased an Apple pencil pro. But now I’m looking at the compatibility and I can’t find the iPad 11th.
Now I’m trying to figure out what Apple pencil is compatible with the iPad 11. I cannot find it at all. Could anyone help me out???
Hi everyone
So I just bought an apple pencil and an Ipad in a store, and the vendor assured me they were compatible, so naturally when coming back home and setting everything up, I searched how to connect the pencil to the Ipad
I realized you have to plug a cable in both the pencil and the Ipad to pair them for the first time, but right now I only have the cables that came with both the Ipad and a charger I already had for my phone, that I used to charge the pencil (wich are an USB-A to Lightning cable, and an USB-C to USB-C cables)
But I also saw some people on forums say that if you do not have an Ipad with an USB-C port, then the pencil will just be uncompatible
So, if I buy a Lightning to USB-C cable, will I be able to pair the pencil to the Ipad, or will it not work and I just got scammed by that store out of 80€ for that pencil ?
