just wanted to know if the pencil alone is a big upgrade cuz I'm getting an iPad air, just don't know if the pencil makes it worth getting the m2 rather than the m1. The price diff between the two is like 100 usd, and the pencil pro is 40 usd more (in my country)

P.S; ik the camera position is different too, but that isn't really a deciding factor, maybe just a nice add on if I get the m2 imo

I'd imagine the squeeze and haptics would be convenient but wouldn't fundamentally affect the drawing/painting experience (and obviously Find My is nice to have but has no effect on regular usage). So it's down to whether the rotation support would be worth it to you or if tilt and pressure are sufficient. Oh, and hover though you could look into a refurbished M2 Pro maybe if you need that. Of course the 6th gen vs 4th gen also has the advantage of the M2, which means more performance cores, faster cores (equivalent to A15 vs the A14 in the 4th gen), higher clock speeds, bigger GPU, and double the RAM, so it will probably be supported at least a couple of years longer. Also supports Stage Manager/proper external extended display support if that's useful. More on reddit.com

Well, to answer my own question for anyone else reading this I did call Apple sales and while at any time any company may misinform any customer I was told that the very first Apple Pencil tips are forward compatible all the way to the latest 2024 Apple Pencil Pro. The tips have not changed. They interchangeable across all units. Is not just the case that recently developed tips are backwards compatible. Said to be just one tip over the course of all the years of pencil generations.
