heyhi! I recently got gifted an old ipad pro (i dont know the exact version but the OS is 17.5.1) and decided to get an apple pencil pro to do art with it. I just got it today and Ive been trying to connect it to the ipad with no luck. I know i need to stick it onto the little magnet bit, and when i do it just doesn’t pop up. its also not coming up in bluetooth. did i do something wrong? does anyone know how to fix this?
So, during Black Friday I bought an iPad. I bought it specifically to use with the app Procreate and an Apple Pencil to step up my art game.
The iPad is a 10th Generation (mcmd4nf/a).
I at first bought an Apple Pencil 2, because a friend of mine suggested it as being better than the USB-C.
That wouldn't pair. After some research on why it wasn't pairing, I found out 2024 iPads aren't compatible with the Apple Pencil 2, so I sent it back and ordered an Apple Pencil Pro (like the articles and threads I read suggested).
The Apple Pencil Pro arrived today ... and it still won't pair or even charge.
That’s all it’s doing, it’s not even showing up in Bluetooth or anything, software is all up to date also! Anyone please help! Thank you!
As the title says, my 1st generation apple pencil won't pair with my ipad (10th gen). I've had both for around 2 years and have been very careful with them; I mainly use them to draw.
Yesterday, after charging my pencil as usual, I was gonna start drawing but my ipad wasn't responding to the pencil, so I went into bluetooth and made my ipad forget the pencil (it was displayed as connected) as a way to troubleshoot. But I forgot I was in a different country, meaning I didn't have the cable with both usb-c and lighting ends with me (1st gen apple pencil shenanigans).
I went out to buy a new one and tried it at the store, plugging my pencil into the adapter and then the cable to the ipad, but my pencil wouldn't appear in the bluetooth section (I tried this with many different cables). So I thought maybe my pencil didn't charge earlier (it happened but rarely) and went to another store. In the second store, the employee tried charging my pencil first but her charger displayed no electric current (meaning my pencil wasn't charging even when plugged in). I was then told my adapter might be broken, so I bought a new one online, it was honestly a plausible explanation, since if my pencil didn't charge, it would be "shut off" and therefore unable to be discovered by my ipad's bluetooth.
The real issue though, is now that the new adapter I bought arrived, I tried charging my pencil with it through a portable charger that displays a battery (usually when you charge a device with it, the portable charger's battery goes down, meaning its charging). However, the battery didn't go down, meaning my pencil STILL wasn't charging. I'm really stumped now...and its genuinely making me really anxious. I would really appreciate any help or advice! I just want to be able to draw in there again...And sorry if this is really wordy and long, I'm just so worried I won't be able to draw for the summer (the only free time I have).
