Hey y’all. I have an M2 11 inch iPad Air. I’ve had it for a month now and really love it. I did not buy an Apple Pencil with it because I haven’t needed one. That’s changed as of this month as I’ve got various trainings coming up for work and will be needing to take notes.
I don’t draw or sketch, the pencil would mainly be used for note taking. I do like the convenience of the wireless charging on the pro but the rest of the features don’t really matter to me. Those of you that decided between these 2 pencils is the USB C pencil enough for note taking or is the pro worth the extra cost?

The double tap to switch to eraser on the pro is amazing for note taking. That plus wireless charging is worth it for me

The pro is a great tool but if PS doesn't matter to you, it's probably not worth it. However, the usbc pencil is extremely overpriced. There are manyy knock off pencils with the same features for well over half the price.

A friend of mine got the USB-C pencil to pair with his 10th gen iPad. He likes it for what he does, which is primarily marking up student submitted work on an LMS. The he enjoys the fact the pencil magnetically attaches to the iPad and that it goes into a low-power/off mode so it lasts longer in between charges.

So far, as a digital artist, I’m not exactly a fan of it. No pressure sensitivity for this one, and I find it tiring to always keep a USB-C wire with me at all times since the pen disconnects once it strays away from the iPad, or that you haven’t used the pen for a while. The tip is rather slippery compared to the 1st Gen (though I may be wrong) - but I compared my old one (1st Gen) to this one, and the difference with the nibs was clear. But, if you just want some sort of note-taking, then it is very useful. (You’ll just have to keep the cable with you at all times XD)

Will be getting an iPad this week and I'm still undecided which Apple Pencil to get.
I will mainly use it for: Note taking A lot of problem solving Light gaming
I’m leaning towards the Apple Pencil Pro because of the wireless charging, but I’m not into digital arts so I might not fully utilize the Pro. Is the extra 3k worth it if all I want is the wireless charging?
Will use it for reviewing for the boards too.

If you're not going to use the pen for a long time, then go for the more affordable USB-C. But if you're going to use it for note-taking, like for many hours straight, then the Pro is better because you don't need to plug in a cable to charge it.

I am not into digital arts but I chose Pro. I bet it's also the squeeze kineme feature. But I downloaded ProCreate for calligraphy and coloring so I'm happy with the pressure sensitivity. But for your use case, I don't think it's worth it unless you really have the budget. But if it's just note-taking, why not just buy a dupe? Heard good things about Goojodoq. 'When I play, I only use a 200-peso stylus that I saw on TikTok so that I don't bruise my Apple Pencil.
