As an app developer I can tell you that Apple is much stricter than Google in terms of privacy. On Android it has been (and partially still is) wild west / do whatever you want. It's getting better but imo that's only because regulations force them. Of course the limitations set by Apple do not apply to Apple itself. While it’s great that you read the terms, it’s no cause for panic. These are extremely boilerplate and are pretty much the legal consent requirements to run and maintain any kind of web platform. “stop providing the service ...” this basically means they can turn the service off if they need to without notice. This is also a legal protection for downtime and service outages and emergency maintenance. “Remove any content ...” pretty much what it says. They can remove stuff. This is primarily to give them the option to do this if they have to. Mostly in case you do something illegal and they need to remove it as per their guidelines. “Use, host, Store, reproduced, modify ...” this is required to run a data storage and syncing platforms. It means they have the right to shuffle your data between servers, update the internal-use metadata, and backup data and store those backups somewhere. “Share personal information to detect ...” hacker prevention, IP blocking, and DDoS prevention absolutely require this. Personally I'd take Apple's privacy with a grain of salt. Are they doing better than Google? Probably. But IMO their attempts feel more like bark rather than bite. They've done some great stuff, especially encrypting most of the iCloud data , and blocking Google Analytics by default . But in some other ways, they are completely anti-privacy.
