My understanding is that Apple doesn't have restock fees for any of their products, even if opened and used, as long as they returned in like-new condition within 14 days - Please correct me if I'm wrong.
My question here is - did Apple make a mistake by not implementing a minor, but painful-enough, restock fee of say 5%, to dissuade the many people that are buying them with no intention of keeping them ?
I think the product looks amazing and will be a huge success, but I've got to think their return numbers around day 13 are going to be (relatively) huge - like 20 thousand plus. (Returns will likely continue at a much lower % once the initial must-try-it people are done, but the return rate of people who ordered on day 1 are likely to be higher than normal, I bet)
It will be interesting to see how quickly Apple starts selling them as 'certified' or whatever they call it.
Apple has a 14-day trial with 100% money back if you are not happy. If you go through your carrier, they will charge a restocking fee, same as Best Buy and other resellers. But Apple stores don't charge anything for returning your phone. I see a lot of android users asking question on here about the iPhone and in my opinion the best thing they can do is just get the iPhone and try it out for themselves. I had to return an iPhone before and the experience could not have been any smoother....they won't pester you with questions or try to keep you from returning the phone. Its as simple as walking, saying you would like to return the phone, and that's it. This should be on the sidebar as a fyi for anyone looking for info.
Received a new iPhone 14 pro max that had issues with Face ID and poor battery performance. I was charged a $55 restocking fee for an exchange. In the fine print, it says returns within 14 days (which it was) a $55/10%restocking fee MAY apply.
Wasn’t this an exchange not a return or does it make a difference? Also charging customers for new devices that are not functioning properly right out of the box seems very wrong and a poor business practice.
This device was under the manufactures warranty but the AT&T rep said it was best to return it under the 14-day buyer's remorse clause. I think he was wrong here.
My MacBook was recently stolen so I have to buy a new one ASAP since I’m a student. I want to get the 16gb but it comes in 2 weeks and the 8gb comes earlier. Let’s say I buy both and return the 8gb before the 15 days return policy. Am I going to get a full refund?
Just want to double check. Thanks!
So, I'm an idiot. This is 100% my fault.
Apple stopped making 64gb Iphones for the Iphone 7. My previous model was a iphone 6, 64gb. I now have a 32gb Iphone7.
Typically, I don't use that much space, before I had "unlimited" (since I didn't come close to filling it) space, I would pull everything off every week. Once I got the bigger phone, I didn't worry about it.
Well, I went and got a new phone, and my Iphone6 backup is too big. I've spent the whole day driving to the Apple store and 4 other phone places trying to find a place that would let me put my Iphone 6 backup on a test phone, then delete all my photos/videos (they're all on my laptop) then re-do the backup and put it on my iphone 7.
Apple care TOLD me that the apple store would do this, the guy only tried to sell me a 128gb phone and couldn't/wouldn't do anything else. All the phone places didn't have a 64gb phone to even use.
Anyone have any suggestions? In reality, I only want my contacts which for whatever reason aren't updated/saved to the cloud. I got what was there, as well as my gmail contacts, but I'm missing about 25 contacts and have old info for about 15.
It would be nice to have the whole backup, but I'm really only concerned with contacts. Anyone have a suggestion?
Just like the title says. Bought an Apple Watch through Amazon and initiated the return when I received it. Took it to the UPS store and it was delivered and signed for a few days later. Had to contact Amazon to initiate the refund which was probably the first red flag. They asked for proof so I sent them the screen shot of when I dropped it off (times, date, location, tracking) and proof when it arrived and the person who signed for it. They said they would look into it and then I get this the next day.
$177 restocking fee?? According to google (I know, didn’t know where else to look) it’s supposed to be somewhere around 10%-15% of the original product price. What can I do?? I’m not sure of who to contact next.
Hi does apple still have a restocking fee? I want to return my Ipad. It is still in the box (unopened). Bought this from the Apple Online Store. I heard that apple cancelled their restocking fee? But it still says so on the official store site? Is it possible to get a full refund on my Ipad?
I upgraded my phone online and got a 128GB Iphone 14. I realized I needed 256GB after the phone had shipped. Not a problem, I thought, I'll just exchange it. After all right on their site it says that phones can be exchanged within 14 days online or in-store, and for Iphones there's no restocking fee.
I head into the first corporate store and the dude had to call someone to see if they could exchange a phone. Remember this is still sealed in its original package. After about 5 minutes he comes back and says they can exchange it but there's a $75 restocking fee. No thanks, I'll exchange it online.
I go to the ATT website to see about restocking fees and plain as day, it says 'for Iphones there's no restocking fee for returns or exchanges'. So I head to another corporate store. The gal in this store says they can't exchange products because, and I shit you not, she says they "don't have the right button on their computer." WTF?!?! And, she goes on, even if they "did have the right button" it would be a $55 restocking fee.
So I head out resigned to the fact that I would have to package it back up and exchange it online. I call the 800 number and finally get connected to an agent. She seems confused about why I would want to exchange the phone but I finally get her to understand that I want the 256GB model. She then proceeds to tell me that I can exchange it online but they won't refund the tax I paid on the phone. I would have to go to my credit card company and dispute the charges. Again WTF?!?! I have never returned or exchanged any item and been told they won't refund the taxes.
Anybody else experience this or have any advice on how I can exchange this phone?
Ordered a phone on amazon. Realized I got the wrong size after seeing the ship confirmation email. To late to cancel so I took delivery and returned it. Item was unopened. Contacted support and they said the item “was received in an unsellable condition”. Order confirm screen says item has a 1-15% restocking fee. Am I screwed? Support is telling me to kick rocks.
Long story short yesterday went to the Apple store, traded in an 11 and got $200 credit. Was going to buy a 14 but when informed it was eSim only, I didn’t know if it could be used in a U.S. territory. To be safe we bought the 13 and have had it one day, etc.
Now we find out through testimonial that it CAN be used in the territory with their carriers and eSim is not a problem.
It’s a bit ridiculous but can I go back to the store and swap it for a 14 considering it’s only 80 more dollars than the 13?
Thanks
