Any idea what Apple asks for you to buy an Apple product with the students discount?
okay, so obviously from the title, i am a college student looking to get money knocked off a new phone bc mine is damn near broken.
my question is: to use said discount, does my carrier have to be one of the big four? i am still on my parents cricket plan and really don’t wanna open my own when i’m about to be going to school.
i just don’t know if i can go in store and maybe select cricket instead?
let me know!!! 💖
Do any of you guys know if we can get discounts on iPhones if we somehow prove we come to UBC?
I can't seem to find any definitive answers about the student discount online. I am ordering a MacBook pro for my wife who went back to school at University. I made it all the way to the "Place your order" button and it hasn't asked for the student email address? Am I missing something here? Thanks :-)
Hey there! I'm an illustrator, and I'm currently gearing up for PhD entrance exams after wrapping up my Masters. I freelance in proofreading and graphic design. Back in college, I couldn't really afford even student discounts, but now I've got some savings, and I'm eyeing an iPad in the next couple of months. I've decided to skip getting a Macbook from the Apple Store because retailers seem to have better deals. Plus, iPads come with free pencil, which is a fantastic bonus. I'm planning to take the EMI route to save my savings from taking a big hit.
Now, my buddy's in grad school, and they've got this college ID working great with Unidays. I used their info to check out the offer prices. Here's the thing – it looks like to order from the Apple Store online, you need to create an Apple ID, which neither of us has done yet. So, here are my questions: Can I make an Apple ID in my name, use it to order, and snag the offer using my friend's college details? Does it have to be a relative doing this, or does it work only if both the Apple ID and college ID belong to the same person (or a relative)? College mail ID is no good for creating an Apple ID since it expires when the course is over. So, we're technically talking about using two IDs. Any potential loopholes there?
Suppose I end up purchasing the product using my friend's Apple ID and college ID. How would that affect my ownership of the product? Can I switch over to my own Apple ID once I receive the order, or are there other hiccups down the road?
Dealbreaker question: Can I use my card to make the purchase after the discount with my friends ID right?
The discount I'm getting for the iPad Air 5 is a whopping 20K less than the market's lowest rate, and it comes with a free 2nd Gen Pencil(priced 10K). I'm definitely going for it. Just want to be clear on any other considerations beyond the price tag.
It's like a loop can anyone suggest me what shall I do
I am about to join law school and I am buying a macbook as we all know clg gonna start in july but I wanna have it early to get used to it(first time buying an apple product) so Can I get student discount before getting into uni or I will have to wait till I get college id?🥲 Anyone who knows the process please help!
I wanted to get some info about Apple student discount. Like can we verify ourselves at the store or online is the only way ? What are the perks of buying an iPad as a student ? What else do we get ?
Pl help me understand the perks of buying an iPad a a student. Thank you.
Can I ask how you guys successfully ordered from the official Apple Store Online Philippines? I'm planning to get an M3 Max 16" base model. Most on-site Authorized Resellers (e.g. PMC) don't have them. The non-discounted price is 219,990. Education price is 200,990. I'm scared to proceed after getting a cancelled order and waiting for a refund.
I'll just share my experience nalang din to help others who are in the dark and not make the same mistakes I did:
We could save basically 20k going for the Education store price. Fortunately, my sibling has documents since they're currently working as a full-time instructor at a University. After making the order, I received an email to pass 2 documents (Faculty ID and Employment Letter) for the discount eligibility to some rpac Apple email or whatever.
In that email, I only just found out that the order name must be the same as the name in documents (Why not clearly state that in the form beforehand?). I passed the documents anyway hoping it would be considered.
Obviously it got cancelled. I just wish this was more explicitly stated that I can't order on their behalf beforehand. They said they would refund though. They also unfortunately didn't tell me what the exact reason why it was cancelled. Only that the documents "do not fulfill the eligibility requirements for Education Store pricing" and to Visit the "Apple Education Store Terms" for more info. Pretty sure this is a generic email template they have.
Pretty vague but I assume it's because of exactly what I said above, I made the mistake of using my iCloud account + inputting my own name on the first 2 fields of the order details. For the payment, my debit card and my name as well (although I think this was required to authorize the payment anyway).
Interestingly, even though the price was on the order page was 200,990 my bank account got charged 204,004.85. Is there some extra charge for cross-border fees?
Just have a few qualms with the process:
• Why do they state that they only charge after the "order has shipped" in their PH shop docs - They actually charge when the order is placed. (first stage)
• Refunds are usually slow. But man, I really think this unnecessary refund can be avoided if documents can be verified before charging the card, or successfully placing the order.
On a positive note:
• The refund for me was quick. They said it would be refunded in 3 days. Order was cancelled by them at 7:15am. Received the "Reversal" on my bank account at around 9:06 PM. Not even 24 hours! (I was stressed the whole day). I heard on some posts, it took them 15-30+ days.
• Thanks to BPI and Apple for this lol. I did not have to call BPI. or contact Apple (I couldn't, this was over the weekend which was outside call-center hours).
In any case, I need advice on how to proceed:
• Should I input my sibling's name on every detail?
• For the payment can it just be my name or does it have to my sibling's?
• For the iCloud account, should it be my sibling's as well?
Thanks in advance! I've been saving for this for months. Just wanna make sure I'm not making anymore mistakes.
Update: Received it on March 11. Ordered on March 4. Which means delivered in 7 days. That's crazy! Expected was March 25.
Hello Apple community, this is a question for people who have friends/family as Apple employees or are Apple employees themself.
Currently with student discount, I see you can get about 10% off and a $150 giftcard with included while buying the new iPad in Canada. Is this the best discount/savings you can get or is the Apple Employee discount better? Can you use both discount offers or just one? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! I have a few friends that work for Apple and wanted to see what was the best course of action for myself. Thanks!
My brother is currently in Uni. Could I get him to buy me a Mac Mini (for the discount), and I pay him, or would the Mac be tied to require a student ID or similar for the Apple ID?
Basically I'm asking would it be ok if he bought it for me (and I paid him), to save £100-200? And what happens once he graduates?
Does anyone know when the US and Canadian Apple Back to School offers will begin?
I think it began on June 5 in the US and June 23 in Canada last year. When would it start, in your opinion? I'm excited to purchase the iPad and M3 MacBook Air, and I think they come with gift cards right?
I wanted to get a mac and I’m trying to avail the student discount using my friends ID. Is this possible? Does the student ID need to be verified on my Apple ID to use the mac ?
I couldn't seem to fine their student discount page on their website. How much is the discount for a macbook pro?
Can I get the educational discount and $150 gift card in an Apple Store or do I have to order online? My nearest Apple Store is 2-hours away but I’d prefer to go see the laptops in person and buy rather than wait for delivery.
Hello. Has anyone here tried ordering apple products online using student discount? I was ordering on behalf of my sister (a student) and I’ve submitted a photo of her study load and ID but it got cancelled. Have you encountered this before?
Is there anything stopping me from selecting the education pricing when buying a Mac even though I am not enrolled at an institution? Do they ever check at any point in the process? Is this uncouth of me to ask? Thanks
Planning to buy M2 ipad air or macbook air sa physical store. Ask ko lang ano need para magkaroon ng student discount and how much yung less nya sa original. Available din ba mga discounts sa ibang stores like Electroworld, The Loop, Digimap, and Beyond the Box? Thank you!
