It begins when you start the trial.

It begins when you activate the trial, not when you buy the phone. You’ll usually have a specific date by when you have to activate it, if you want it. And as long as you activate it by then, the three months start from the moment of activation.

Hi everyone,

I'm a new Apple TV user. Yesterday, I bought a Samsung S90D 48" TV and wanted to redeem the advertised 3-month free trial of the Apple TV subscription. I created an account using the QR code displayed on the TV, but I only received a 7-day free trial instead of the 3 months.

Did I do something wrong? Does the 3-month trial activate after the first subscription payment, or is there another step I need to follow?

Have you already had a three-month free trial of Apple TV+ in the last 12 months? You only get the full three months if you're a first time Apple TV+ customer, or if you haven't had a "free trial" in quite some time. I bought an AppleTV last month and got nothing since i had an AppleTV+ free trial connected to another purchase earlier this year.

Omg I’m having the same issue! When I try type in the code and URL it says to use, the 7 day trial goes away and it tries to charge me straight up.

So apparently I’m not sure if this a over sight but if you use the Best Buy app, you can buy the free 3 months of Apple TV (free obviously) and it seems you can do this every time the trial ends.

I think Apple only lets you do these free trials a certain amount of times. They don't even work for me anymore when I get a new device.

If you have the PC Optimum app, go to the dashboard and scroll down until you see the NEW PERKS FOR YOU section. You can claim up to 3 months of Apple TV+ if you haven't taken advantage of that particular promo yet.

I purchased an Apple TV 4k (3rd Gen) in October. When I got it, I was already in a 3-month free trial for ATV+ (via Target) under my Apple ID that I used to log in to the ATV. As such, I was never presented with the free trial offer that's supposed to come with.

My previous 3-month ATV+ trial is expiring in 2 days. Will I be presented with the offer that came with the ATV or can I somehow access the offer after this existing trial expires? Does anyone know how to redeem it since it wasn't presented automatically the first time around? EDIT: The answer is that yes, Apple knew that my Apple ID was associated to an ATV 4k box with an unused 3-month trial of ATV+, and it gave me the option to claim the 3 free months.

Alternatively, I have another Target code for an additional 3-months. Will this new code for a fresh 3 months work on my same Apple ID if I try to redeem after expiry of the current trial? EDIT: The answer here is that I've exhausted this Apple ID's limit of code-based free trials

you have to redeem it and the subscription End Date gets updated with new trial 3 Months. There is a limit on each apple id to claim the trial. If you already reached it, try the code on a new apple id to get the extra 3 months.

Got myself a £1500 11 pro M4 and came with an apparent 3 months free subscriptions for a number of Apple services. I activated TV and music to try and compare with my current Amazon Prime and after a month i said I should preemptively cancel as to not pay forever if i’m not using it (i did that with other suppliers, payed internet contract for a flat i used to rent 2 years after i left). To my surprise services did not continue until the end of free subscription but got cut off immediately and can’t be reactivated for the rest of the 3 months

Found some reports about similar, apparently for 3 free moths you must cancel the last day of the period. Sounds a tad evil, the other suppliers on Apple store seem to keep true their promise

It’s not the nicest thing to do, but it isn’t evil or sketchy. Apple tells you that is precisely what is going to happen if you cancel. If you just hit Cancel blindly without reading the warning, that’s on you.
