Roughly every 2 weeks or so, give or take a week my Apple TV account gets locked. Everything is logged off and I have to then unlock my account and then re-log into my apple account. It's extremely annoying.
Anyone know what's happening or how to prevent this? It seems like someone is trying to log into my account, but I have no idea who or why.
This doesn't happen with any of my other accounts. Roughly ~3 years ago my Hulu account randomly logged in from Malaysia and I reset my password. No issues since then. I use a password manager, so every single password is unique. Any recommendations other than just randomly logging back into everything every 2 weeks or so?
Hi, I don't have any apple products I have an android and a windows computer but I wanted to watch some series so I bought Apple TV I think thats what it's called the streaming service.
I logged in got the 7 day free trial and on the hour everything is fine but after watching a few episodes it says I have to log in again and I go to do it but says my credentials are wrong so i go to change my password because maybe I forgot the password I don't know and it says the account is blocked. I didnt sign in to any other device apart from the computer where I first started watching and it happened a few hours after even making and activating the account. Now I did the reactivation process but it says I should last only a day and it's already been more then a day and it kind of defeats the whole 7 day trial because I'm gonna have the account locked. Sorry for the long text but is there a way to get my account back and is this normal?
About once a week for the last two months, I've been getting "Apple ID Verification" when I boot up my Apple TV 4K 2nd gen. I'll enter my password and instead of letting me in, it tells me my "Apple ID Locked" or "This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons" and I end up having to go through hoops which involve needing to receive a text message to confirm I'm who I am. And then it's happy with my password again. What gives? I should note that I don't have any apple mobile devices or ipads. Just the Apple TV 4K.
I'm trying to get into my very old apple account from years ago. I believe it was one of my first accounts but I couldn't remember the password so I went to forgot password, put in the email and it said the account is locked and can't be used. And the account uses an iCloud email. I don't know what to do. Is there any way to get into the account or am I screwed?
My husband set up an apple TV account for us to start watching Ted Lasso last night. When we tried to log in on the Roku tv - it didn't work, we tried twice and then he tried logging in on his phone only to be told his account was locked. He submitted a support ticket to get his account unlocked and get access again. They denied the request!
So I bought my wife her first ever apple product (an Ipad A16) to do some drawing/digital media creation. We created an apple account and set up the new ipad, went to the app store and purchased a specific app that she knew she wanted, after which she also installed netflix/hulu and everything was fine. She only used it for about 20-30 mins after that just testing out her new app and deleting some apps she knew she wouldn't use. The next morning it said she had to sign in again, but gave us "an unknown error has occurred" after entering the password. We can use the ipad and use the apps we have already downloaded, but we cannot download anything else. We went online to icloud.com to try and sign in, and it said her account had been locked for security reasons. We had to fill out an unlock request and send it off, and this morning we got an email back saying the request had been denied. Now we aren't even given the option to request the unlock again, when we put in the email/password it just says "Your account has been locked and cannot be used". I called apple support and they said removing the activation lock "might" work, but we cannot sign in to request it and we cannot sign in to request a refund for the purchase we made in order to justify a new account. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
So i made and account on sunday to use the Apple TV trial and as soon as i made it i got locked out of the account I JUST MADE but i am still able to use the app on my phone but cant manage it and sent an email to change the password and a day later my request got denied and decides to make another request and this Happen.
So now i cant log in and my card info is there and they are going to charge me for something i cant use
Signed up for Apple TV, did not even get a chance to watch one show before being locked out. Wtf is wrong with this company?
I made an account to try out the free trial for AppleTV. I only used it for about an hour or two on my PS5, when midway through an episode of Prehistoric Planet, I was randomly signed out of my account. I tried signing back in, but my password wasn't working (I'm 100% positive I got it correct); I then tried to change my password, and after typing in one of those Re-captcha codes to prove you're not AI (which I'm also positive I got correct) I got locked out of my account. Submitted an appeal, but I got an email today saying my access was still denied.
What the hell happened? And is there anything else I can do? Because I don't know if my account is gonna get charged once my free trial is up in a week.
Ive really enjoyed what ive seen of Apple TV. They're like leading right now with show quality. Especially for Scifi which is probably my favorite genre. I'm a PC/Android user I have no apple devices.
I usually find the shows through other means but I thought that I liked their shows enough that I wanted to support. So I signed up for an apple account. Signed up for Apple TV/7day free trial and attached my paypal.
I watched the first episode of foundation then for some reason I needed to log in.
Went to log in and was told my password was incorrect (I use a password manager that auto saves passwords and I literally just used it to log in with no issues before).
They said I had to have my account reviewed for unlock and it seems they denied it.
I legit have no idea why I cant login now. is this something that can be fixed? I've done nothing wrong other than sign up for an account and try to watch apple tv.
Last night I made a new Apple TV account to watch the Jays game. I don't own an iPhone, Mac, or any Apple product so I had to make a new account to subscribe.
Partway through the game, I was booted out with a message telling me I had to log in. My login info didn't work, so I had to request access to the account. This morning I got an email from Apple saying my request was denied. Apple support says my account is "inactive", and can not be logged into by either them or me even just to cancel the apple tv subscription. Not to mention the initial subscription payment that they've now stolen from me.
Support literally directed me to dispute the charge with my bank instead of just letting me cancel. What the hell is going on over there? I'm never supporting an Apple product again. So stupid.
FYI: I've searched and seen posts from other people who have had this same issue, but have found no solutions.
Update: Got the email back that my account access request was denied.
Edit: I mean Apple TV+, the streaming service, not an actual Apple TV. TIL that is a thing lol
I haven't used Apple products or services in probably over a decade,, but today I noticed the current $2.99/month offer for Apple TV and wanted to give it a try. I made an account, gave my card information (payment is pending), and after browsing through the movies and shows, I was locked out of the account and had to request account access, which can take up to a day. This was just within the hour I signed up.
From a few quick searches and finding other Reddit posts about this, it seems to be a consistent problem. I assume, based on others' experiences, that my requested access is going to be denied without explanation and my account will be gone. Is Apple going to take the pending payment? Not that $3 is a big deal, but it's kind of disappointing that I never even got to use the service before getting locked out.
Does anyone know why this happens?
Tried to log into my Apple TV account from my own home, on my own Wi-Fi, using my own devices.
Apple immediately threw me into a password reset loop… I passed every single verification they asked for, but now it tells me there’s a “security issue” and I have to wait 24 hours.
Customer support also said it’s “for security reasons” and there’s nothing they can do.
What scenario are they imagining?
Someone breaks into my home, steals my phone and laptop, has access to my email, knows my Apple ID, passes all the 2-factor authentication — and wants to watch Apple TV? 🤣
The most annoying part is that I signed up for the free trial, fully expecting to pay for a few months, and now all I want to do it cancel and delete my account. Only watched one episode of Severance, and then got logged out and now I'm dealing with this. I can't cancel my subscription. I can't do anything. I just have to sit here and wait for them to draw money out of my account. I've never had any sort of service lock my account and not give me any way to do anything about it.
I inherited my uncles Apple TV after he passed away in 2020. I just got around to trying it out but it says I have to be signed into his account which I can't do. Do I have any options? I know how locked down apple devices are as I've owned an iPhone now for several years.
Wife and I wanted to do the 7 day trial of Apple TV+ so I created a new Apple Account and provided my credit card info thinking we'll probably cancel before the end of the week.
We were watching something on the TV for a little over an hour using the account when it randomly stopped playing and said I had to log in again which was weird. I re-input my info but it wasn't accepting it this time. I tried both the QR method and manually inputting it on the TV. I was having trouble with the QR because I have an iphone and it kept trying to use a different Apple Account that's tied to my iphone instead of the account I just set up.
So then I try to login on my PC but every time I try it's not accepting the password. I was triple checking that I was typing it in right and I know it was right because we were watching on the TV after all.
I go the "forgot my password" route and now it says the account is locked. The only reason I can guess why it's locked is because I was trying to login too many times unsuccessfully - but I was using the right password which wasn't working! So now I'm waiting for account recovery which I guess will take at least a day? I tried the recovery more than once so hopefully that didn't make things worse. I haven't even gotten an email notification about any of this either. I just have the original Apple TV+ subscription confirmation.
It's super frustrating because I gave them my cc info for an account I can't even access now. I'm going to be mad if they charge me after a trial we couldn't even use.
Do I have any other options than to wait for an account recovery response that could take anywhere from 1 to multiple days apparently?
So, my dad lost his iPhone yesterday (with my iCloud in it) and we tried to locate the person that stole it but as soon as I did, maybe 30mn later I got an email saying that the Findmy feature has been deactivated on that iPhone
Now my problem is, somehow the account in my main phone (not even a new phone, I had this phone for over a year) is blocked and apparently I need the other phone (which I just lost) to reset the password
