The only way we’ve found to fix it is to go into setting and restart the appleTV. If we just turn it off and back on we still get this error. When we restart it fixes it while the tv is on but as soon as we turn it off and back on we get this error. Anyone else have this issue and have a more permanent solution. It’s been doing this for like two weeks now. We have a Vizio tv and surround sound system if that helps.

I’m gonna guess it’s an HDCP issue. It could be that restarting the Apple TV with the TV on establishes a good handshake but something drops out after restarting the TV. First guess is the HDMI cable is low quality. Next guess would be a TV software update. Could also try unplugging the TV for a few and re-plugging. Or try the box on another TV.

I get this message accessing my purchase content through the TV shows app also. The Apple TV app under library says I have no purchased content.

Yup I can’t play any of my TV Shows at all. Absolutely unacceptable. Clearly they have server issues even though there apparently aren’t any. We called Apple and let them know.

If you hold down the Menu button and the down arrow on the remote for 10 sec until the LED on the front of the Apple TV begins to flash. Let go of the buttons and the Apple TV will do a soft reboot.
This has been happening to me several times a week and doing this seems to fix the issue.

I fixed mine by just going back to the stv menu and trying to play it again.
In my case I was streaming the content from my iPad.

I have not seen this problem with iTunes Movies app....yet. Seperately, I've noticed when you reset the appletv, it won't do a full reset (original v13.1.1?), it will only reset to the existing firmware! Regardless of which you choose...
