We have a Roku 4800X. We get this from time to time. After starting a show, it'll play the recap fine, then get that error when starting the actual show. Rebooting the Roku has always resolved it.

It’s called the apple tv app and have you tried the following: -uninstalling and reinstalling the apple tv app -signing out and back in -restarting the roku -contacting apple support as it is free so long as you aren’t repairing hardware. They may not be able to do much but you can certainly try -is this problem persistent on all your Roku devices? If not, there Martinsville New something wrong with that specific roku -checking for updates to your roku Try any of those till you run out of options. If all else fails, I’m not sure I have anything left you can try honestly other than airplaying the video to your roku.

Using the app on an LG TV connected via ethernet to Fios. It's not my internet connection, all other apps connect. Sometimes the error will only show up for a specific show, e.g. it won't play Foundation, but Ted Lasso does.
Anyone else getting this?

If you mean that you see the "No Signal" message, that lasts for several seconds before displaying the video, that's normal (for now). The TV is in the process of switching from SDR or HDR10, to Dolby Vision, or back to SDR/HDR10. When implemented, HDMI 2.1's "Quick Media Switching" process should correct that.
