Best TV Shows of 2025 - The New York Times
2 weeks ago - Clockwise from top left: Apple TV; Sarah Shatz/FX; Warrick Page/HBO Max; Netflix ... Dec. 4, 2025 ... Many of us, from time to time, talk back to the TV. (Elvis Presley once gave his television set some helpful feedback with a gun.) A few of us even end up making a living at it. But what I was struck by, while whittling down my favorite shows of 2025, was how many of them seemed to be talking to each other, having spirited dialogues about art, human nature, even politics.

The 49 Best Shows and Movies on Apple TV+ Right Now (October 2025) - TV Guide
2 weeks ago - Imogen Waterhouse and Aubri Ibrag, The Buccaneers Apple TV+ Need to unstuff a stuffy British period piece? Just add Americans. This adaptation of Edith Wharton's unfinished novel, published in 1938, will no doubt draw appropriate comparisons to Netflix's wildly popular Bridgerton, but the story of five young, new-money American women who head to London in the 1870s to catch British aristocrats for marriage adds a different enough wrinkle to make it stand out.

Currently enjoying the third season of the reluctant traveler and I know my mom will probably like watching the third season of loot as she watched the first two
Although with the price increase. I’m looking at its schedule more often and I really don’t use it enough
Just browsing through my watch history it’s clear I watch one series then I drop off until another one releases
It isn’t often I feel more than one show to watch on there
But perhaps that’ll change soon
What about everyone else here?

I was thinking about this over the weekend: I believe if I had to choose only one streaming service to have, it would be Apple. Obviously their catalog is small compared to the other services, but their hit ratio is incredibly high. I watch a bigger quantity of shows on other services, but the majority of the shows I love are on Apple.

Sounds like you just gotta give some of the other shows a chance; there's quite a few great shows, and quite a few good shows as well. Personally I loved Foundation, For All Mankind, See, Silo, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, After Party, Ted Lasso, and for some godawful reason I enjoyed Invasion, even thoguh it's objectively crap. Slow Horses is hugely popular, as is The Morning Show. Brigadoon wasn't bad, though you gotta be able to handle showtunes/broadway. Shrinking and The Studio are also pretty well liked. There are also some turds. I was looking forward to Time Bandits from the day it was announced, as that's one of my favorite movies from childhood, but it was a dud.

Aside from the shows I mentioned above -- and Seth Rogen's Emmy-winning comedy The Studio, which is absolutely a must-watch -- did you know Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy hosts his own Emmy-nominated travel show?
