I've gone through 3 different budget fitness trackers in the past 2 years and they all either stopped syncing, had terrible battery life, or just died completely. I have an iPhone so the integration would be seamless unlike my current tracker that barely connects. My hope is Black Friday brings the price down to maybe 350 or includes gift cards or something to soften the blow. I mainly want it for fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, and being able to see notifications without pulling out my phone constantly.
For people who upgraded from cheap fitness trackers to apple watch, was the price difference actually worth it? And do apple watches typically get decent Black Friday discounts or are the deals usually minimal because demand stays high?
My Series 8 works fine but Apple's going to drop the Series 11 soon and I'm trying to figure out if Black Friday is the time to upgrade or if the improvements aren't worth it. Every year Apple adds like one new health sensor and calls it revolutionary but realistically the watch does the same stuff as 3 years ago. The problem is my Series 8 battery is starting to drain faster and I know in another year it'll be annoying. If Black Friday drops the Series 11 by like 100-150 bucks that might push me to upgrade but if it's the usual 50 dollar Target gift card situation I'll just keep my current one. Also not sure if I should wait and see if Series 10 gets heavily discounted once Series 11 drops or if the new model is actually different enough to matter.
For people who upgrade Apple Watches every generation, do you actually notice the improvements or is it just new watch syndrome? And has anyone scored a legitimately good Black Friday deal on a current gen Apple Watch or is it always minimal savings?
Hey, y'all, I'm looking to buy an Apple Series watch for the first time. I'm looking to grab the S10. However, based on previous years, will this year's model be on sale at all during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday holiday (it can be on Apple, Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, etc.), or will it just be previous models that go on sales (S9, etc.)? I'm looking to see if I should grab it now or wait a couple of weeks to snag a deal.
Thanks in advance!
Looking to get the Apple Watch Ultra either 1 or 2 during this Black Friday for the best, please share any recommendations. Looking for the best deal.
Just wondering if anyone knows if there will be any Apple Watches on Black Friday deals looking to upgrade mine and my husbands
Black Friday 2024 will likely once again bring a range of discounts on the Apple Watch, similar to what was seen in 2023. Based on previous years, several retailers—including Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Costco, Kohl's, Target, and others—are expected to offer price reductions across multiple models. Here's a breakdown of what deals could be available, based on trends from last year's sales.
Apple Watch Series 10
Just released on Friday, September 20, 2024, we're not expecting to see any significant savings at any major Black Friday 2024 sales this year. However, it may qualify for a free gift card at Apple Store's Black Friday 2024 event.
Apple Watch Series 9
Released in 2023, the Apple Watch Series 9 will probably be discounted at several major retailers during Black Friday 2024.
-
Walmart 2023 Example
-
Apple Watch Series 9 GPS (45mm): Walmart offered the 45mm Midnight Aluminum Case with M/L Midnight Sport Band for $379 during its Black Friday event last year, a discount from the usual price of $429.
-
Other Models: Other color and size variants were also on sale, though the specific prices varied.
-
Expected Price Range for 2024:
-
Series 9 GPS 41mm: $249 to $279 (regular price: $399).
-
Series 9 GPS 45mm: $279 to $299 (regular price: $429).
-
-
-
Staples 2023 Example
-
Staples ad did not specify which Apple Watch models were included in last year's Black Friday sale, but offered up to $100 off Apple Watches in-store. This deal may return in 2024, potentially lowering the Series 9 price to around $299 for the 41mm model or $329 for the 45mm model.
-
-
Amazon 2023 Example
-
Amazon typically matches other retailers' prices, and in 2023, they offered similar discounts on the Apple Watch Series 9. Expect Amazon to feature comparable deals in 2024, with potential prices as low as $249 for the 41mm GPS model.
-
Apple Watch Series 8
With the release of the Series 10, the Apple Watch Series 8 is expected to be discounted even more heavily in 2024, as retailers clear out older inventory.
-
Fred Meyer Black Friday 2023 Example
-
Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm): On sale for $299, a $100 discount from the regular price.
-
Apple Watch Series 8 (45mm): Priced at $329, also $100 off.
-
-
Expected Price Range for 2024:
-
Series 8 GPS 41mm: $199 to $239 (regular price: $399).
-
Series 8 GPS 45mm: $229 to $259 (regular price: $429).
-
These discounts were typical for the Series 8 in 2023 and will likely return for 2024, making this model a good option for those not needing the newest features.
Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen)
The Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) is expected to be a budget-friendly option again in 2024. This model was a popular choice during Black Friday 2023, particularly for those looking for Apple Watch functionality at a lower price.
-
Walmart 2023 Example
-
Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) GPS (40mm): On sale for $229, a $20 discount from the regular price.
-
Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) GPS (44mm): Priced at $259, also slightly reduced.
-
-
Expected Price Range for 2024:
-
SE 2nd Gen GPS 40mm: $179 to $199 (regular price: $249).
-
SE 2nd Gen GPS 44mm: $199 to $219 (regular price: $279).
-
As new models come out, the Apple Watch SE may see even steeper discounts during Black Friday 2024.
Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen)
The Apple Watch Ultra, aimed at those with outdoor and fitness interests, was introduced at a premium price in 2022. While discounts have been more modest for this model, some savings are expected during Black Friday 2024 as the 2nd Gen is now available (which likely will not be on sale this year).
-
Amazon 2023 Example
-
Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen): On sale for $749, down from its regular price of $799.
-
-
Expected Price Range for 2024:
-
Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen): $699 to $749 (regular price: $799).
-
As the second generation of the Apple Watch Ultra is already available, the original Ultra may see larger discounts in 2024.
Tips for Black Friday 2024 Apple Watch Deals
-
Compare Prices Across Retailers: Retailers like Walmart, Amazon, Kohl's, Best Buy, and Target often price match during Black Friday. It’s a good idea to check multiple sites to find the lowest price available.
-
Early Access with Walmart+: In 2023, Walmart+ members received a three-hour head start on Black Friday deals. Consider signing up for early access to improve your chances of securing a deal.
-
Amazon Lightning Deals: Amazon offers limited-time discounts throughout Black Friday. Keep an eye on these for additional savings.
-
Look for Trade-In Offers: Some stores, such as Best Buy and Apple, offer trade-in programs that provide store credit toward the purchase of a new Apple Watch.
-
Consider Cyber Monday: If you miss out on Black Friday, Cyber Monday 2024 may bring further discounts, especially from online retailers.
Conclusion
Based on last year's trends, Black Friday 2024 is likely to feature significant discounts on Apple Watch models across multiple retailers, except for the newer Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2nd Gen. Shoppers can expect savings of up to $150 on the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 8, SE (2nd Gen), and possibly the Apple Watch Ultra (1st Gen). Prices may vary by retailer, but stores like Walmart, Amazon, and Fred Meyer will likely offer some of the best deals. Keep an eye out for early access offers and trade-in programs to maximize savings.
Happy bargain hunting!

I will keep this thread updated so check back if you want to see if there are any new deals. But I highly doubt the Apple Series 11 will go on sale. I will be on the look out for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 deals, but unfortunately I don't think its under production anymore so might have the settle for the more expensive Apple Watch Ultra 3 which is on sale right now at Amazon.

I've never had an Apple Watch, and never really had all that much interest. I just never saw the appeal, and for $600-$800, I still don't, but to be used as mainly a health/fitness tracker that can do a few other things, for under $300, it seems like a really cool device. And at $179 for a new 44mm version, which is the best Black Friday deal that I've seen so far, it's a great deal. That's over 35% off full retail and seems like a crazy amount for an Apple product.
I've used Fitbit and Garmin devices for probably 10 years through my employer's wellness program. My fourth Fitibit device, a Charge 5 just completely and utterly died at just shy of two years and I've decided that I'm done with their low quality, throw-away devices. I was starting to look into cheaper Garmin devices when I saw the Apple Watch SE 2 was only a little more than the devices I was looking at. That was before the Black Friday Week sales even started. Now, at $179, there was no comparison between the second gen SE and any other device in a comparable price range.
While I'm not an Apple fanboy by any stretch, I've always been impressed with their quality and I do love how well their devices all integrate so well with each other.
My employer started supplying supervisors with iPhones about 7 years ago and, though I was an Android fan before that, if they were giving me a free phone, I wasn't going to turn my nose up at it. I've had nothing but iPhones ever since and haven't really missed an Android phone. A couple of years after that, when it came time to replace my aging Samsung Galaxy tablet, I decided to go with an Apple iPad Air and have been very pleased with it. I got a pair of Power Beats Pro earbuds a couple of years later and I consider them an Apple family product even if they don't technically have the Apple name. Now, I look forward to adding this new Apple device to my collection. I'm certain that it will do all that I need from a fitness tracker type device and much more. I look forward to seeing how well it integrates with my other devices.
Anyway, if you're looking for a good deal on an Apple Watch SE 2, now is the time to get one. I ordered mine from Amazon, but it looks like most other big etailers had the same or very similar pricing.
I’m trying to convince myself to buy the ultra 2 in black. It’s finally on sale but I’m having a hard time convincing myself into spending this much on a watch. I have the series 6 and love the features but I’ve wanted an ultra 2 in black since they came out.
Someone convince me to spend this much on a watch! I’m basically just a cheapskate and the price delta on the ultra 2 vs the series 10 is pretty significant.
There is deals for both through my carrier. I want the natural finish with Milanese loop band.
The 2 is $16.66/mo with installment plan, or $599
The 3 is $22.23/mo, or full $899
My most current apple watch is I believe a first gen SE, so either is a big upgrade. The 2 seems like a much better deal so I'm inclined to go that route, but I would like to hear from you all on if you think the 3 is better enough to warrant the price?
Ocean? Milanese Ultra Loop? Have any major retailers discounted these in the past around Black Friday? Any currently discounting these?

Thinking of gifting my partner with matching Ultra 3's.. anyone know where I should look next month for a good deal? especially if there are bundles.. I know its probly too soon after release but still hoping. also what accessories do you guys suggest I should highly consider adding?
I am. I have a lot of supplements that I depend on to function and to treat conditions that I have and they can be quite expensive. (Though much cheaper alternative to hospital bills and treatments). So as much as I hate the big A & W, I'll be ordering a bunch of these as soon as we get paid, because they are the only vendors that I've been able to find for much of what I need.
I'm not kidding, one of these supps is usually ~$34, and it will be $10 off. I plan on getting 4.
I have been worried about what will happen if these things become unavailable, so while I hate it, I plan on stocking up to soften the blow of whatever is to come in the next few months. Bonus that I won't have to budget and buy them for a few of months if I work it right.
I'll also be taking advantage of couponing (a casual hobby I've been learning) and rebate apps, to prep for the winter/whatever is going on lol
But anyway, all that to say that while it's not exactly anticonsumption, I'll be participating in BF sales, just not on the things they want me to buy. I won't be getting fancy electronics or toys, I'll be getting batteries and other household essentials, our annual pair of shoes for my bf and me (one pair for each not both lol), my supplements, and backstock foods.
I have never been in the financial position to be able to do this before, so I'm doing it while we can. I'll be using money that we would normally put to savings because I try to think of our physical resources as a kind of savings as well.
I was just wondering if anyone else will be begrudgingly participating this way? Or, if not, how are you handling things?
TL;DR The title, basically.
(sorry if the flair is not the best one, I wasn't sure which to use)
EDIT: Thank you for all of the attention on this post! I can't respond to everyone! 😅 But it looks like a lot of you are doing the same thing, and those who aren't have 100% valid reasons for choosing not to. Best of all, I've learned a lot of tips from many of you. This is excellent. Thank you.
trying to upgrade from an older series and wondering if anyone's spotted decent apple watch deals yet for black friday. not picky about the latest model, just want good value. if you’ve seen anything solid, drop a link or store name.
