Which iPhone models are compatible with Apple Watch?
Can I return my Apple Watch?
What is Apple Watch For Your Kids and how does it work?
Answered: Multiple people here and on r/surfing (thread eventually deleted by mods) say they regularly surf with apple watches with no issue (other than the importance of having a good strap), especially if it's kept under the arm of a wetsuit, so am going to give that a go, rather than a case.
Hi,
Background:
I wear an Apple Watch (SE 2) normally (to track fitness bands, make phonecalls etc), but surf with a cheap casio with all the seams covered in black witch (hasn't let me down in 5 years).
I really want to start wearing my apple watch surfing.
Not really to use/track things, but more to then have a phone and method of payment on me when I get out.
I keep reading reports of them (despite being waterproof) not handling surf well though, and don't want to risk a 2+ year streak on my fitness bands (a kind of track your activity game).
Question:
I'm looking for a bombproof (re. water resistance) watch case, that can hold an apple watch SE (the normal non-ultra one).
I don't care about looks, features etc and don't really mind if it's not actually possible to use the watch whilst it's in the case, I just want to be sure it's safe from the water (it would be under my wetsuit arm) until I get to shore (basically an aquapac for a watch that I can keep on my wrist for convenience)
Does anyone have any recommendations/alternative approach for keeping a watch safe whilst surfing (ideally not nuts expensive and I don't want to keep it in a bag in a chest zip incase I smash it)
Thanks
Title says it all if any of you guys know some good g-shock like cases for AW please tell me :)
Hello everyone!
I have been searching for an appropriate type of my protection for my Apple Watch in regards to rather heavy weightlifting. I kind of want to put what I have gathered out here and want to ask you guys what you think/recommend/think is correct or incorrect.
The following statements are information gathered over the course of reading forum entries and watching video related to this, and might not be correct.
When it comes to combo protectors (case with built-in screen protector) it appears that sweat and moisture could be an issue. The moisture could accumulate in between the spaces of your watch and the case, and potentially damage the exterior (interior?) over a prolonged period of time. That made sense to me as to why something like this might not be an ideal option, if the previous statements are factual.
Screen protectors seem a better option, since when you apply them, your aim is to not trap air in between the protector and the watch. This would lead to the sides being unprotected, which would be fine with me, since the biggest surface area of the watch is the watch face.
Another option I have seen is that people put on sweatbands and put them over the watch while working out to avoid scratching. This is an interesting option and would lead to you only having it on while working out, but have your vanilla watch when one is not. Since I have never really used any sweatbands, my concern would be the size of sweatbands, since I would say that I have larger forearms than the average person.
What do you think about this? Is something I have written down wrong/inaccurate? What do you use, and suggest using?
Thanks in advance!
