Been using my 44mm SE3 Cellular for a few days. Haven’t used cellular yet as my MVNO doesn’t have it yet. I use my S3 at night so haven’t completely tested the battery but when I’m done with it before bed it has a solid 45% left. I’ve been on the yearly upgrade train since S0, the best thing about SE3 is haven’t noticed any worse function than previous non-SE watches. The basic features are the same in both models. Cell connectivity water resistance are all the same. The series 9 will have the additional heart ECG monitor to help keep track of different medical info and coordinate with your doctor. If you’re not interested in that I don’t see what the series 9 would provide you over the SE. There are some performance differences in the processor chips buts it’s a watch your not going to use it for games or anything like that so it’s inconsequential imo. The only watch that’s substantially better is the Ultra for the build quality and ruggedness but it’s a little over twice the price of an SE at 800 for the titanium model Generally there’s is always a 150 promo for adding a new line for Apple Watches but it’s spread out over 36 months so it only lowers your bill like 3 bucks More on reddit.com

Regret that you bought GPS version but not the Cellular one?
100 percent. I’m on my phone now. Mornings and nights usually…. BUT when day time hits I just leave my phone. You can call, text, check emails… everything you need to do…. I even listen to music from my watch on YouTube while I’m out. I think wearables are the future. I don’t want to be another phone zombie. The Apple Watch is amazing with cellular. More on reddit.com

I came into the Apple Watch world through the ultra 1 three years ago. I previously used Garmins as that was the only reason I needed a smartwatch, for runs. I’ve read from Redditors that the battery was unbelievable on an ultra but, because I’ve used Garmins, I had no other Apple Watch to compare. This weekend I bought an SE 3 as a daily wear. Here it is, 11:01 AM and my SE 3’s battery is at 51% my ultra would have been at somewhere around 80ish. I’ve meditated, walked three miles, checked some notifications and the SE 3 is half done for the day. I’m not complaining about the SE 3, I really like it! I’m just appreciating why everyone was so excited about the ultra’s battery life. I had no idea that battery life was this harsh on standard (non ultra) watches. I’ve switched my new SE 3 to low power mode and turned off the “always on” feature. Again, I really like it, just realizing that I can’t see how the see how the SE 3 is a useful fitness tracker for longer runs and hikes.

I was looking at the Apple Watch SE, because the Android watch I got before getting my iPhone is just not convenient at all. Is data and cellular good for the additional price?
Or is looking for a good sale on the Series 9 worth getting over the SE? I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but I don't think I'll need the more in-depth heart rate/sleep/fitness features beyond basic fitness tracking

What the other commenter said as far as quality...unless you are using EKG or cycle tracking, the 9 isn't worth the extra. As for the cellular, if you can get the $150 off (available a lot of times for a lot of people, but not always and not for all) that means over 36 months you will save $4.16/mo...normally the watch line is $10/mo. If you have Do More, Get More, Unlimited Plus, or Unlimited Ultimate you get half off the service, so $5/mo. The question on that comes down to is it worth either $5.84/mo or $.84/mo to be able to call, text, get app notifications, listen to music, etc. when you don't have your phone nearby?
