My mom currently has the Apple Watch Series 3 and has been waiting to upgrade to the Apple Watch SE when it comes out. I do not know if the new Apple Watch SE has been released yet or if it’s already released can someone tell me when the new generation of Apple Watch SE is going to be released in the near future. Thank you.

Hi,
I would like to buy an Apple watch for my wife. She doesn’t use watches or wristbands normally. She uses her iPhone regularly but not so much since having 2 kids. She also exercises a lot. So I thought that a light, small and practical watch would be the way to go, which seems like the SE 2. But I found out that it’s actually a few years old, and lacking some other functions that I don’t really understand (I never had a watch either). So in this context, is SE a good option for my wife, or shall I go with 10? Thanks!
Hi there, I am completely new to digital watches.
I have been eyeing the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) for a while now, and is most likely going to be my pick for what I want.
Is there any point of me waiting for the new series 9 Watch in September? Like they won't release an Apple Watch SE 3rd generation right? Nor will the Series 9 Watch be as cheap as the SE 2022?
Thanks!
If I were in your position I’d probably wait unless you really feel like you need a smart watch now.
I doubt they drop a new SE, but maybe they lower the pricing on it and you save a few bucks. It’s also possible you find a great deal on a Series 8 between now and September that makes that a worthy upgrade for you.
Probably the Apple Watch Series 9 will have the same price as the AW Series 8. I don't think that Apple will launch a new AW SE model this year.
Hello All, I am bit confused , so Apple watch SE was first launched in 2020 (1st Gen), then came 2nd Gen in 2022 and now in 2023 Apple informed they launched the new SE. However , i dont see any where it being called 3rd Gen?! Apple is calling it SE only and on their website there is no more 2nd Gen! So how many SE do we have? What is the difference between this years SE vs 2nd Gen- launched in 2022?
I put one clock face on it so far, I am not a fan of the band and I plan on changing it asap. Any recommendations?
My Apple Watch SE 2 is 2 years old and is currently at 90% battery health. It serves my purpose perfectly and battery life is still good enough for me. So I don’t see myself upgrading to a newer model anytime soon unless Apple stops supporting with watchOS updates. For me having the current software is big deal. So how long do you think it’ll be supported? as the S6 - S8 and SE 2 all have basically the same chip.
During the Keynote, I was expecting them to do a new design for the SE since they redesigned the flagship model. Since the SE was using the design of S4-S6, I was half expecting Apple to give the 3rd gen SE the design of S7-S9. Instead, it’s the same design for the 3 gen and it’s honestly really disappointing.
Also, for the new bands, will I be able to use the new ones for my S9? Or will I have to upgrade if I want a new band?
Yesterday i bought an apple watch se directly from apple. Less than 400, which was super nice and I have 2 years of apple care+. I have a few questions about it, thought I should ask.
First off, the specifics of the watch if anything would change because of it. It is a 44mm, GPS only, midnight aluminum with the same color sport loop. Dont think anything else is needed to be said, maybe.
My first question is, how durable is the sport loop's velcro, about how long does it last and does it matter if i submerge it.
Second question is for the watch itself, can I go swimming in a pool or a hot tub and it'll work fine. That's my biggest fear at the moment (and what about the ocean? i doubt itd be fine after that)
If anyone would like to share anything else, please do so. I hope some of my questions get answered and happy new year yall
I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. It’s definitely not a necessity for me, but it’s very nice to have. I use for working out and to check messages and emails (I’ve disabled all other notifications). It’s very easy to use and despite being SE it feels premium and smooth. I got it on a Black Friday deal 🙂
My Apple Watch SE first gen has given me over four years of excellent use. I decided to go big for an upgrade.
After seeing the release of the SE3 watch, while I literally got the SE2 watch 6 months ago, I am kind of doubting till when the major software updates stop for my watch. (like watchOS 26, 27, etc.)
Do anyone of y'all know? It's better to get an answer about this then doubting about selling this watch.
I’ve been using a generic smart watch for months, however I’m looking to get an Apple Watch because my current smart watch always reboots the next day with the wrong date, and it never saves my progress.
I primarily used it for tracking my steps/calories, however being able to text would seem nice.
I would like to buy a smartwatch primarily for sports, weightlifting, and running. I’ve seen that the Apple Watch SE 3 is likely to be released in September. Should I wait until then for the SE 3, even though it may not come out, or it could be more expensive or not really better? Or should I buy the SE 2, at the risk of it becoming obsolete in a few years due to system updates? I should mention that it will be used primarily for sports, only a few hours a week and on weekends. Maybe I should consider other brands besides Apple? Thanks in advance for the advices!
I was honestly disappointed with the iPhone 16e. I do love my Apple Watch SE 2 Cellular, because it has the ideal size with 44mm and is so light, which is great for health tracking and sports for me. As the price is pretty good, I have no fears damaging or losing it, which helps me get a good use.
What do you think how Apple is going to proceed with the SE watches? As the corresponding phone now has been discontinued, I fear the SE watches are going to be discontinued as well.
