Hi! I’m looking to buy my first Apple Watch, I’m a competitive swimmer and it seems helpful for tracking and pacing. I don’t really want to spend a whole lot on a watch if I don’t have too, so i’ve been looking at the SE, SE 2 and series 7. I’m definitely opened to refurbished and looking to spend around 200 dollars or maybe less. Thanks!

Since you said you are a competitive swimmer therefore in the watch much more frequently than the average user here. I honestly would absolutely not go with a refurd. You’re taking a heavy gamble that it’s water resistance hasn’t been compromised in even the slightest way. You could dive in for the first time and the watch goes out. That or invest in a high quality waterproof case. Many might say I’m paranoid and frankly I am. I always look at what could go wrong and try to prevent it. Also when training and competing is it common for your wrist to be in a situation where it might collide with something ? Might wanna go with a case just cause even with a new model. Sorry to be drawn out just my initial thoughts when seeing your post.

What do you get with an Apple watch series 7 vs the new Apple watch SE 2022

Don’t forget fast charge. That alone is enough to push you towards the 7. It’s very nice to wake up in the morning after tracking sleep (and still having 35-40% battery left on GPS version) throw it in the charger, take a shower and have some coffee, and have a fully charged watch waiting for in in maybe 45 minutes. Add in AOD and I think it’s worth it. And the sensors are nice to have.
