I have a Series 7 and am going back and forth between upgrading to a Series 11 or waiting until next year. I like some of the features that are available like temp tracking that I currently don’t have and the longer battery life overall, but can’t decide whether I really want to switch or not. Can you please share with me if you did, and if you are glad that you did (or are not glad)?
5G support - First Apple Watch with 5G. Real question: who really needs 5G on a watch? 🤔 It might help with battery efficiency when on cellular, but otherwise not a big use-case yet.
Stronger glass - 2× more scratch-resistant Ion-X glass. Nice durability bump, but it comes with a small weight increase.
Battery life - Now officially tested for 24-hour use including 6 hours of sleep tracking. Series 10 was rated for 18 hours without sleep tracking. Slight bump here, but feels more like Apple optimized usage assumptions (and maybe the 5G chip helps a bit) rather than a massive hardware change.
Wrist flick gesture - Lets you navigate UI with just a flick. But older devices are also getting this via watchOS 26, so not Series 11 exclusive.
Hypertension notifications - Cool new health feature, but again rolling out to older devices with watchOS 26.
Sleep Score - Same story: comes with watchOS 26, so not Series 11 exclusive.

Is it worth upgrading from Series 7 to Series 11?
How much longer is the battery life on Series 11 compared to Series 7?
Are Series 11 materials more durable than Series 7?
I had a series 7 which had horrible battery life so this 24 hour battery is a nice upgrade. Was finally able to change from black to silver so I can make it a bit dressier too
I briefly got a Series 10 in June but then decided to wait until the new model. I thought I would probably think it wasn't worth it in the end, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the longer battery life, thinner body, hypertension tracking, and better scratch resistance of the Series 11. What are your thoughts?
x2 Resistance on scratches for the glass
24 hour battery (from 18h the previous versions) not really!
The “amazing” wrist flick gesture. not really!
That’s all, all the other features are coming to Series 10 and Series 9
Oh and 5G for Cellular versions in some countries!
I read a lot that there isn’t a big of a difference. I am first time apple watch user so just want to try it out and mostly use it as a phone when out and about with the kids in case any urgency, respond whatsapp message etc.
I have two options-
apple watch series 7 45mm - amazon renew shop - acceptable condition - £150
apple watch series 9 45mm - amazon renew shop - excellent condition - £290
What do you think?
If the acceptable condition is bad I will return and get the series 9 but wonder if there is anything else to that, like would the series 9 outlive series 7 with a lot? Both are supposed to have battery over 80%.
Also don’t understand the software updates not sure if important in my case.
Thanks for your help!
Bought a series 11 after I got the iPhone 17 pro. Runs like a beast compared to my series 8. At least the 8 will be put to good use for gym and sleep, and this watch is for casual wear.
Always wear a case I work with my hands
Not one, not two, but THREE new Apple Watch devices have a release date of September 19. Kate talks through the biggest upgrades between Apple Watch 10 vs. Apple Watch 11 including battery life, connectivity (hello, 5G!), and new fitness tracking features. Apple's smartwatch now has a version of blood pressure monitoring via possible hypertension alerts and sleep scores. For Apple Watch Ultra 3, the addition of Satellite is a standout, plus a slightly larger screen is always welcome. In this video you'll also see the new Apple Watch faces... everything else you'll need to stay tuned for my Apple Watch Series 11 vs. Apple Watch Ultra 3 vs. Apple Watch SE 3 review.
Just got it! Excited to see all the differences from my Apple Watch SE
