Hey guys. As the title says, I found a practically brand new series 9 GPS 45mm on Facebook Marketplace for ~160. I have a 40mm SE Gen 1 and I'm looking to upgrade. Is this a super good deal that I should take up or should I wait for the watch X? Thanks.
Is the series 9 worth it for someone who doesn’t have a smart watch?

I just bought an Apple Watch. In these last few days, I have realized: The Apple Watch is not a watch. It is a squawking, talking, wrist-tapping heart rate monitor that takes your blood oxygen levels for fun while doubling as an ECG machine that tells you to wash your hands when you get home (and for the FULL TWENTY SECONDS ) while simultaneously nagging you to get up off your arse every hour to close three beautiful virtual rings that have monthly achievement awards, and of course go to bed nice and early after reminding you to charge it first of course so it can be with you while you sleep. Soon it’s telling you that your local metro transport system is loud enough to damage your hearing, when you suddenly notice - it also wants to help you with your menstrual cycle! (I am biologically male but … thanks … I guess … for the offer … I guess). You take a slow walk to the shops to buy milk and are pleased that the watch considers this to be a workout. And it’s all okay. You’re starting to like this thing! Because at the end of it all, it says to you, relax. “Take a Moment to BREATHE!” So you do. And you enjoy a one minute meditation and rapidly experience overwhelming clarity in your life. So you leave your house to head to the pool - because, oh yeah, this thing is also “Swim Proof!” as Tim Cook eagerly says. But then it taps you on the wrist again… Your heart sinks… “Did you leave your iPhone behind? Did you KNOW you just left your iPhone behind? DO YOU NEED TO GO GET YOUR iPHONE?!” More on reddit.com

I am looking to get an Apple Watch and I can’t decide whether or not to get the series 8 (or lower) vs the 9. The older series are much cheaper but the series 9 with the finger tap looks super cool, and I like that it’s much brighter. I was wondering what this sub would think.
I know I’ll use it a lot regardless of which version I get. The series 9 features are just tempting to me.

I use the S9 double tap constantly. I’m a parent, so I rarely have one hand free, let alone two. I tried out the AssistiveTouch, and it wasn’t as accurate. I’m of the mind that when going in new on a tech product, go for the newest one. It will be supported longest, and I only upgrade when my stuff dies.
