I get a discount for being an employee.I never owned, yet alone wore a watch my whole life. I would have to order it online so I can’t try on any to test. Im leaning toward the series 9 45mm stainless steel watch.. but in everyone honest option, what watch band is the most comfortable? I know it’s based on personal preference, but would love to know everyone’s suggestion I will not be swimming with it and would will takeoff while using in the shower. Short answer, yes. Long answer? With the changes in case shape over the years, the curvature on the edge of the lugs has changed as well. I'm not sure about 45mm vs 46mm specifically, but with a 41mm band on my 42mm S10, I can see there is a little gap at the edge of the lug where it doesn't quite line up with the curve on the case. It's only visible if I look straight at the top or bottom edge, though I can also feel it if I run my finger along it. But it's such a small gap and I'd never notice it if I wasn't looking at it. Even a 38mm band on the 42mm watch looks fine, though the gap is marginally bigger. It's still not enough that I'd worry about it at all. I'd expect doing the reverse, a newer band with an older watch, would mean the edge of the lug sticks out a tiny bit? But I'm pretty sure I used a 40mm band with my S3 and a 41mm with my S6 and don't recall it being an issue, so if it does stick out it's not by much. Technically any Apple Watch band is compatible with any Apple Watch, as the cross-section of the lug and the connection mechanism is the same across all sizes and generations. It's just the width and the edge curvature that change. You can use a 38mm band with an Ultra or a 49mm band with a small Series 0 if you really want to, it will just look ridiculous (and in the latter case, probably snag on stuff as the ends of the lug will stick out quite a lot!) So long answer TL;DR: It fits, not quite perfectly, but the difference isn't enough to matter unless you're incredibly fussy.
