I was just told that apple care + in Canada does not cover lost or stolen phones. Is this correct? If so, what is the use of purchasing it? That is correct. AppleCare+ Theft and Loss is not available in Canada.

Yet again, AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss has not been launched in Canada after the recent event.
After having a phone stolen this summer and being forced to buy a new phone, I'm weary of not having some sort of theft coverage.
Canada peeps, what is your go to for theft protection insurance for your phones? Any recommendations for a plan that both covers theft and also provides decent repair options for accidentals?

Several credit cards offer theft protection for phones if you pay your bill with them, and some service providers offer protection if you buy the phone from them. Check with the CC companies you have and think about buying a phone from a carrier that has theft protection included in their insurance. Also note that insurance has a deductible, and for thefts it's usually a decent amount higher (I've seen up to $800 deductible depending on the phone) since it's a guaranteed total loss and not something that can just be sent in and fixed like 99% of insurance claims.
