A list of Apple-related RSS feeds
If you want to reduce your reliance on Twitter, consider RSS. In a way, RSS feeds are what Twitter ought to be: a reverse chronological list containing only content that you chose to follow. (Indeed, Twitter had RSS feeds until 2012.) Below is a list of some RSS feeds that might be useful to Apple developers and others with a strong interest in Apple.

Hi,
I wonder if it's possible to feed my Reader app with news from Apple News+. I would like article and magazines in my favorites to be send to Reader automatically.
Thanks.

Hey there! If you save documents using the browser extensions on web or using the Safari browser and share sheet on iOS, paywalled document should be saved without issue. If you save directly from another app on iOS, such as the News app, this may result in impartial parsing because Reader can only get the naked URL and those apps aggressively block read-it-later apps. This is magnified further if some of those articles are paywalled.

It’s been hit or miss for me — when I share articles in Apple News with Reader on my iPhone, some articles save the whole article in Reader, others do not. I’m not sure what makes the difference, technically. Maybe some news organizations prevent sharing? Others allow it? Wish I knew.

r/rss on Reddit: Best way to convert from Apple News to RSS?
June 15, 2022 -
Hi guys, I'm looking to replace my normal news app with RSS (using Reeder on the Mac and iPhone). Right now I have Apple News, which not only has specific news sources (like Fox or NBC), but also topics I like (like personal finance etc). I'm trying to figure out the best way to find the RSS feeds for all my various news sources in Apple News. On the curated lists, would I still need to find the individual RSS feeds manually?
Thanks!

You could start with these, and choose to add or delete feeds: https://www.youneedfeeds.com/starter-packs

Ultimately you will need to find and add feeds yourself. I would argue that despite the upfront investment it is actually a good thing because it lets you better curate the sources that you like and those that are trash. However discovery can also be important. Maybe a good alternative to Apple News is to use Google News. They have RSS feeds for categories and searches which you can subscribe to. Then if you like articles from a publisher you may consider subscribing directly. For example here is the feed for Personal Finance: https://news.google.com/atom/topics/CAAqKggKIiRDQkFTRlFvSUwyMHZNRGx6TVdZU0JXVnVMVWRDR2dKRFFTZ0FQAQ/sections/CAQiTENCQVNNd29JTDIwdk1EbHpNV1lTQldWdUxVZENHZ0pEUVNJUENBUWFDd29KTDIwdk1ERjVObU54S2dzU0NTOXRMekF4ZVRaamNTZ0EqLggAKioICiIkQ0JBU0ZRb0lMMjB2TURsek1XWVNCV1Z1TFVkQ0dnSkRRU2dBUAFQAQ There are some downsides to the Google News feeds. They use tracking links and don't include the article content. But as a way to bootstrap your feed list or provide ongoing discovery it may work well for you. I find that other good sources of discovery is Reddit. I frequently subscribe to blogs and publications that are linked from Reddit. This helps me grow my personal feeds and be less dependent on "the algorithm".
