Does anyone know how to get a rotated facade such as a sideways Log Cable Facade?
Videos
I want the face to point to the west and east directions but it won’t point anywhere but N, S, and Up. It’s driving me crazy. How do you properly rotate of of those things?
Is there a way to make facades in AS2? I looked it up in NEI and the recipe doesn't work. Maybe the blocks I'm using can't be made into facades or it is a bug. Just started a 2nd base using AE for everything and facades are inportant for the look of the base
So, I spent about an hour and a half working on this perfect, gorgeous (for my builds, at least) design for a Forestry building for all my bee-and-tree-related machines. I decide, since it's a Forestry building, I'm gonna power it totally green--solar generators, carbon-neutral charcoal, and biofuel. I need to run a lot of wires and cables, so I settle on EnderIO's conduit and facade so I can hide it all in this super pretty building I just made.
And then it hits me. There are two big flaws with my master plan.
-
EnderIO Conduit Facades painted like logs won't ever, ever, ever turn horizontally.
-
Forestry machines can only be powered from the back.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...n. Right? So now I get to redesign basically everything because there's nowhere I can run the wire through the wall without spoiling the design that I worked on forever.
What are some of your minor annoyances with your otherwise favorite mods?
Afet getting into 1.7.10 packs and being shocked on how much Applied Energistics changed from the port, I never really touched it much.
Sure, I know it's really powerfull, and the concept of channels is easy to understand. The main thing stopping me from getting into it was meteor scavenging.
On my current world I was running here and there carrying a powerful pickaxe and managed to get the necessary presses with just 2 meteors.
By that time I had an almost fully running Ender IO network, using barrels and the Inventory Panel. But for some reason I don't like it as much as Logistics Pipes or AE2.
So, I started setting up an AE2 thinking "go on, you know you'll love it when it's done". This was the first time playing in a world that I actually loved the building ("building" as in construction; I live in a hole) I made: functional and aesthetically pleasant (I guess some of you would hurl, but this was a big milestone for me).
Which means that everything I built and setup was with the above in mind - pretty and functional.
Thus I arrive to the point. The ME Controller. A beautiful, awesome block/multiblock.
So I thought.
I mean, it is beatiful. But thinking of setting it up left me with 2 choices: keep it burried underground, away from my sight. Or have it visible, with cables come from every face in a way that I cannot fathom to be pleasant to the sight.
The only way that this could work (I think) would be by having the controller in the middle of my base (vertically) so that each cable can run into a wall, as if a chain would hold it in place.
This is invalid upon making the controller bigger, as more cables go here and there, from each available face, cancelling the "1 face, 1 direction" concept.
Conclusion and TL;DR - please show me how you make use of AE2 (preferably including the ME Controller), while making it look awesome/minimalist.
