Aw man that’s too bad. When I was with the company I got quite a few computers that way. Was one of the better perks for sure. Doesn’t cost them a damn thing to run the program. That is definitely a slap in the face. Glad I left that shithole.

If I apply for a Staples More Account credit card do I have to use it at all or do I have to use every once or so to keep the card active? I'm only interested in applying for the card to get automatically upgraded to Premier status and don't have any interest in keeping a balance what so ever. Thanks so much in advance for any info on this subject.

The card I had was deactivated for non-use. It was a personal account, and I only used it once for a transaction when I first signed up for the credit card. They cancelled it without warning, after maybe 1 and 1/2 years of inactivity.

Why not a Chase Ink Cash visa or US Bank Triple Cash Rewards visa if you want the points? If it's for the recycling, just do what everyone else does and have multiple accounts...

Fuck me. Just got a letter that Citibank is closing my Staples More Account. It's my oldest Credit Card by far and this will tank my average age of accounts and my credit score will go down.
Been 5 years since I gave my notice at Staples and they are still, as my high school band teacher said "doing me up the bum".

When a retailer - any retailer - has to discontinue their credit card, it tends not to bode well for the retailer. Customers with a store's credit card tend to spend more with that store than with other methods of payment. That lifeboat is starting to look pretty good right now....
