AR virtual try-on uses a combination of different computer vision technologies. First, face detection and tracking locate the person and monitor their movements on the screen. Then the neural networks create a 3D object that is the virtual item. Finally the item is placed where it should be thanks to face segmentation. 

If the item in question is not intended for the face, analogous technologies are used (e.g. hand tracking for rings and bracelets).

Augmented reality try-on (AR try-on) is a technology that lets people wear virtual items with the help of augmented reality. Users can view these items on their mobile phones, desktop/laptop computers, smart mirrors, or other devices with a camera and Internet connection.
