Has anyone gotten Corectrl to work on Arch Linux?

Yes. The installation was like any other AUR package. No problems here.

I installed the git version -> yay -S corectrl-git

A little help for a newbie with CoreCtrl
To be able to play with the voltage you will have to do what it described here at "full and gpu control" https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/wikis/Setup#full-amd-gpu-controls It's fairly well explained in this link. And this change will work directly after the reboot. Hope it will help. More on reddit.com

r/archlinux on Reddit: Has anyone gotten Corectrl to work on Arch Linux?
June 10, 2020 -

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I've tried installing corectrl from the AUR but, when I tried to run it, I get the following error:

[09-06-20 21:31:00.457][W] No translation found for locale en_US
[09-06-20 21:31:00.457][W] Using en_EN translation.
[09-06-20 21:31:00.584][W] Cannot start helper
[09-06-20 21:31:00.584][W] Initialization failed
[09-06-20 21:31:00.584][W] Exiting...

What should I do? My machine's language was always set to en_US; I installed corectrl with yay -Sy corectrl (I also tried corectrl-git, still didn't work), and I also installed the optional dependencies, with no luck whatsoever.

cat /tmp/CoreCtrl.log:

[09-06-20 21:27:50.487][I] ----- Application started -----
[09-06-20 21:27:50.676][W] No translation found for locale en_US

I've also found this issue on upstream's gitlab: https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/issues/89

My setup:

Arch Linux

WM: i3wm (no DEs installed)

Display Manager: LightDM

Display server: X11

I've checked Polkit and it runs just fine. I also tried installing the qt5 package group, but that did nothing to fix the issue.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

EDIT: fixed by running corectrl with sudo

r/linux_gaming on Reddit: A little help for a newbie with CoreCtrl
July 4, 2020 -

I literally just switched over to a Manjaro KDE build yesterday. I've dabbled in the past with Linux but only for basic tasks, never for gaming and the like. I heard it was finally prepped for gaming and so far so good but one thing was missing. I missed my Adrenaline drivers and software, cure Corectrl, even the UI is reminiscent but there's one issue.

I have a Vega 56 GPU and a 3700x cpu and while I've got basic functions like fan curve etc on the GPU I don't have voltage regulation etc and my GPU shows up as a generic. Is there any way for me to change this and get full access?

I hear it's possible but the explanations I see when searching turn up mostly guides that assume you know how to do what they're explaining. Can anybody put it simply?
